Day 120

I'm not feeling too good today and no it is not swine flu, just a chest cold. I dosed myself up with Lemsip and went to work, after not being there for 3 weeks (two of which, cause Robert was ill) I thought I had better go! It wasn't too bad.
When I got home we were supposed to go to a village fete thingy, where we would have had a sausage (Bratwurst) BUT there was a huge thunderstorm, and with a cold I decided that as much as the kids would have loved a sausage, I just didn't want to be out in the damp again. Plus Robert is terrified of the thunder.
I got this cute shot of Richard drinking for today.

Day 119

Help, I'm a soccer mum! Today I took Robert and Richard to the first (of probably many) football training sessions for 3-5 year olds! It's in the village so nice and close and lots of their friends are intending to join, only today, only the hard were out and about, as it was POURING with rain! When we left to go, it was just a light shower, but once there it was horrible. But that didn't stop the kids from having fun, as you can see here.
I did once or twice think I might be a bit mad, but Robert's face at least made up for the 45 minutes stood on the side in the rain. Richard didn't enjoy it quite as much, but that may have had a lot to do with the weather, so we'll see how it goes next week! - when hopefully the sun will be shining! (Robert is on the right about to kick the ball, and Richard appears to be flying on the left, btw!)

Day 118

A non-eventful day today, just shopping and a bit of housework, before the boys got back from Kindergarden. Then it was playing with the boys this afternoon, too cool to want to go out!
And I forgot again to get a photo, but then Sunny brought me one of his regular presents, so I got a picture of that - a tic! Horrible little things, I got this one whilst it was still crawling on his fur, once they lock themselves on to him, they get bigger and even more horrible! He wasn't going far here, before I squash them I stick them to the sticky bit of a post-it, stops them running and hiding from their fate!

Day 117

It was Robert's check up with the heart doctor today (he had Kawasaki Syndrome this time last year and now has to have his heart checked regularly) - well, it went just perfectly! As in the doctor didn't really know why we were there, as there is NOTHING wrong with his heart! Always a good thing to hear, but still better to be on the safe side and have the doctor wondering rather than us! We don't have to go back again now until this time next year!

I didn't take any pictures today, so I had to go and find something to take a picture of, and this is it! Remember the boys planted some seeds the other day - well, look at them now!

I actually can't believe it, seeing as most of the time they get drowned instead of watered! Look at this poor little seed, that got washed out of the earth, and still found a way to grow!

Day 115 and 116

I got behind, we watched a good film last night, and by the time it was finished it was a bit late for blogging, so two posts in one today! And as Florian complained last time I did more than one day in a post, that they were out of sync, I will start with today and finish with yesterday!

Day 116
We had a lovely day out in the garden all day again, only today it wasn't our garden, we visited friends for a barbecue and some catching up! The food was delicious and the company great. Their girls and our boys played lovely together. The most fun was had with the chalk, and instead of drawing on the paths with them when they first got them out, they did some face painting! here are my two with their "make up"!

Day 115
Florian took us out for lunch, to one of our favourite restaurants. It is where all our English guests to our wedding 4 years ago stayed. They all loved it there as much as we do. So this picture here will bring back memories for them!

The boys has sausage and chips there and Florian and I started off the asparagus season, delicious, Florian had the traditional meal (white asparagus with hollandaise sauce and potatoes) and I had Schnitzel with asparagus, chips and salad. Delicious but much to much!
After that it was off to the playground there!

Day 114

Robert is back at Kindergarden, and the only time I hear about his earache is if I ask him and then he goes from "full of beans" to "so poorly" in seconds - its funny really. So I believe it is all better, but to be on the safe side, we won't be going swimming anytime soon!

I had an appointment at the "skin doctor" today (don't know what he's called in proper English), in Germany you are allowed a skin check every two years and as I have quite a lot of moles and freckles I thought it would be good idea to go, and I have a mole on my cheek that feels like a black head and has grown in the last couple of years. Well that one is OK now, but the sort that is known to turn bad, so in June that will be removed, but other than that everything else is fine!
After the doctors I decided that after the stress of the week, I could do with some retail therapy. Didn't find anything though - the only thing I liked they only had in one size and it wasn't mine. Never mind, I had a fun time browsing!

This afternoon we (the boys and I tackled the lawn) and I remember now, we have a LOT of lawn! And with my little helpers it took me two hours! But it all looks nice now. This is Robert cleaning the lawnmower after the mowing!

And just before I sat to write this post we got another photo I want to share - this is a slowworm, Sunny has been catching and bringing them home all day long, this one was the third and I was taking him out to our green house. Apparently slowworms eat slugs, and we get lots of them, so I am hoping it will eat those waiting for my zucchini plants!!

Florian had a hard time getting a decent shot, the slowworm was a bit frightened and did a LOT of wriggling!

Day 113

Well, Robert and I were home alone again this morning, and with him really feeling a lot better I found it difficult. He did not leave me alone for one second even following me to the loo! The amount of times I nearly fell over him... His eye is still bloodshot, so I knew it was the right thing for him to be at home but I am certainly worn out now.
this afternoon it was a trip to the doctors for his U9 check up - in Germany the kids have a number of regular check ups about their overall development. Up until now we have always been to a paediatrician but i have never been truly happy there, and we changed to our doctor with both kids as they can now tell the doctor where it hurts if it hurts. And wow, she was so much more thorough on this check up. She had Robert balancing, hopping, jumping, stretching, drawing, talking, seeing and giggling! And she spotted that his ankles bend inwards when he tries to stand on his heels, this is not good and to combat that we now have to think up some fun games for him to walk on his toes! Should be fun, I know he will enjoy it!
(oh and his eye is not conjunctivitis and his ear is getting better- so guess where he is going tomorrow!!)

This evening I took part in the 9th free photoshop course online and that is my photo. Well - screen shot actually, the photo only showed how dusty my screen is!

Day 112

Robert did not miracously (can't spell that) recover overnight, and still has an earache. Unfortunately he also has this very bloodshot eye.I happened to mention this at Kindergarden when I picked Richard up, and well, I was told (in no uncertain terms) that if he has conjunctivitis he is NOT allowed to come in to Kindergarden tomorrow. So it looks like another week off work for me! I could have done with the kidfree zone after today. Robert although poorly still doesn't believe in sleeping in. And today he was up and on the go well before 6am, and he also got Richard up. So come 3pm Richard was very tired and grumpy and argued with me about anything and everything! And if he didn't get his way screamed - didn't help him get his way though, much to his disgust!
Now they are sleeping soundly in their beds, and today they have an alarm clock in there, so I have told Robert that he is to stay in bed til it rings and he is NOT to wake Richard up before then either. We'll see if it works - still won't be a lay in though, the alarm rings at 7am!!
Thanks for letting me let off steam here!

Day 111

Oh dear, just when you think things are running fine, something goes wrong - well its poor Robert again, his ear infection is back, he was up somewhere just after midnight last night, screaming with pain and a temperature. So I let him come in my bed - just so that I got a bit of a sleep, and this morning it was off to the doctors again. This morning the temperature was luckily gone and he talked non-stop all morning. but he does have an infection, only she doesn't want to treat it with antibiotics again if she can help it. So we have to keep blowing his nose and trying to keep the passageway between the nose and ear free (nose spray and inhaling) - wish us luck!
Come lunchtime the poor thing was running a fever again, so no trampolining for Robert today.
but I don't think he minded too much, his new thing is WRITING and the Easter Bunny brought a great exercise book teaching the basics and we did that at the new table in the garden this afternoon whilst Richard enjoyed having the trampoline all to himself!

If you enlarge the picture you can see just how well Robert can write his name and he only learnt last Thursday!

Day 110

It was another lovely day today, so guess where we were this afternoon - yep in the garden and on the trampoline! The boys and I had great fun - Florian was back at work, we miss him already!
This morning I went shopping and I bought the kids a table for their picnics in the garden! Which I built up for them this afternoon, they watched whilst bouncing! But I did manage to get them to test it for me, when I had finished - smiling at the same time proved impossible though, this is the best shot of many!

Day 109

Gosh, we have had such a great day today! I took so many photos, and I would love to show you all of them, so I have decided to show the layouts I did with them instead of the photos!
Of course they are all trampoline photos, we were so lucky the weather changed for today and we could be out there all day - in fact my face feels rather flushed now, so maybe I actually caught the sun!
First the layout about the building of the trampoline:

Day 108

The boys quite enjoyed being home today, they refound all their toys in their bedroom (nearly took it apart in the process!) Then a surprise phone call from my parents, they were at Lidl and what we had tried to buy before we went away - a trampoline - but was sold out, they had where they lived! So they bought it for us. Now for the difficult part, how to pick it up?! Well, Dad decided that the easiest way to get it to us, was to bring and so, they did just that - Thanks Mum and Dad!
Tomorrow, weather permitting, we will be building it up! And then I'll have pictures of that. Today's picture shows Florian and my Dad trying to set up Mum's new netbook (exactly half the size of my laptop - so cute!) to go on the internet and to be able to use Skype! Hopefully it works when they get it home, it worked OK here - I think (wasn't paying that much attention)

Day 105 - 107

We have been away for the last 4 days, the Easter Bunny brought us a trip to Center Parcs - Hochsauerland for Easter. The last thing Florian did before we left Tuesday lunch time was change the tires on the car, so I blogged that before we left for the Internet free holiday zone. So I now have hundreds of pictures of our great holiday, but I promise no more than two for each day - difficult, difficult!

Day 105 (Wednesday)
Our first visit to the swimming pool there
Day 106 (Thursday)

This is the boys on the miniature train they have outside.
And here are Mum and me having a good laugh about something! (Mum and Dad came too, btw!)

Day 107 (today!)

First up us in the water, we spent about 90 minutes in the water every day the boys just loved it, they didn't want to get out!and here are Mum and Dad with their favourite grandsons!!

Day 103

I can't believe the weather we are having, but I am not complaining! We had another great day in the garden, we kept it nice and simple for the boys as poor Richard was having a dose of "sensory overload" and was VERY easy to upset today. Just a bit overtired from all the action of the last days!
So we searched out all the toys hidden away over winter and they had fun playing with them. Here are the boys trying their hand at badminton (stood too far apart to get them on one photo, so here are two!)

Richard actually managed to hit it when I took this (you can see the shuttlecock in front of the orange of the slide!)
And here is Robert, much easier to see the shuttlecock here!CU tomorrow

Day 102 - Happy Easter!

We had a fantastic day today, and I could post all 134 pictures I took today, but that might bore you after a while, so I chose the one that featured the Easter Bunny too! Here is Florian with our boys and their cousins and Treacle!Poor Treacle, got treated to lots of kiddy cuddles (prods, pokes and such)! But look at that sunshine! And everyone in T-shirts! It was a BEAUTIFUL day! And to so unlike last Easter, where we barbecued in the snow and had to eat indoors! Today we were outside ALL day! just gorgeous!
We all had so much fun!

Day 101

It's amazing how the weather here seems to go from Winter to Summer in one day! Yesterday was Spring and today could have easily been summer it was beautiful! We were out in the garden all day (when I wasn't shopping that is)!
When I got back from my second shopping trip - Robert's best friend was here with his Dad (his Mum joined later) they sat on the side and looked so cute. So we got them to pose - introducing our three wise monkeys!

Wow, we are 100 days into the year already, time flies when you are having fun! I still love this project and am sure I will make it through the year!

Today is a bank holiday in Germany, so we packed up the kids and went to visit my parents. The weather was beautiful, we spent the whole day in the garden, and the kids helped Pop water it!
So cute
And surprisingly enough, Dad was the only one to get really wet. He did manage to splash Richard who had to change T-shirts then, but it was Dad sitting in the sun, trying to dry his trousers, socks and shoe!!

Day 99

Well, Robert is feeling a LOT better today - thank you antibiotics! But I still kept him home from Kindergarden and didn't let him play in the garden. Got to get him healthy again for Easter!

Speaking of which I made ae little Easter bag today, they weren't going to be my photo, but I am so proud of myself, I will post them here! (I used my own Easter kit Chirpy Chirpy Hop Hop) Now to make 3 more for the rest of the kids! (mine and my nieces!)

But this is really my picture for today, my men, enjoying oneanothers company! They are honest its just that the TV was on, hence the concentration on their faces! I wonder why Florian wasn't so enthralled by Kipper!

Day 98

I am soooo tired! Robert crashed last night - I had just got into bed and tucked myself in, when "MUMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY", off I go thinking it was time for a weewee - NO, he had earache, the poor thing, to start with I just blew his nose and told him to lie on it and keep it warm. Of course 15 minutes later I am back in there, so this time he gets some nose spray. 30minutes later, back in - he is in agony, so its Nurofen for the poor thing. He and I then get about 2 hours sleep, then I am back in there again. Sometime around 5am I let him get into our bed, so that he didn't wake Richard up. I had already decided that it was doctors in the morning and not work!
We spent 2.5 hours at the doctors this morning, cause of course it being Easter holidays, none of our doctors were there, so I decided to go straight to the Ear-Nose and Throat doctor, but so had everyone else so it was a LONG wait, and poor Robert cuddled me the whole time with tears running down his face. It really hurt him. But now we are all equipped with nose spray, ibuprofen and antibiotics! And hopefully he'll be feeling better soon!

Day 97

So, today was the day, that I took the boys to the circus. I was dreading it really. I am NOT a circus type of person, I don't like clowns for starters. I think it all started when my Dad took me off of Mum's hands for an afternoon and took me to the circus. The clowns frightened me and Dad had to take me out of the tent, as I screamed too loud and too long! (I don't remember anything about it, i was that young, but it shaped me for the future!)
I was dreading this was going to happen to me today.
But check this picture out
No fear there, just pure enjoyment on Robert's part and Richard he was mesmerised! The show was an hour and Richard didn't move once! Robert got a bit fidgety for last 15 minutes, but both thoroughly enjoyed it. And me, I enjoyed it too. Watching the boys faces for a start, but the actual circus was fun too. It was a small family run circus, with according to Robert all the ingredients of a circus - clowns, jugglers, horses, hoops and tightrope walking! Perfect!

It was a great afternoon and I am glad I let the boys convince me to go!

Shopping and ironing this morning! I went to get the boys' Easter present. We have got them a little indoor greenhouse each. So that they can start growing their own veg. Robert has already said he wants to grow tomatoes and Richard zucchini (courgettes) - they don't know what I have planned though, I am sure they will love it.
But that is not today's photo, it will probably be Sunday's ;o)

We were out in the garden in the afternoon again, beautiful weather, and all our animals met up!!
Can you spot them all? You'll probably need to click on it to see it bigger, to really see them all! Anyways, the black blob under the hutch (left) is Treacle, the rabbit, the light blob on top of the compost heap is sleeping Sunny, the cat, and then you can see 5 of our 7 chickens, from left to right - Henny, Blackie, Stevie McQueen, Brownie and Costa!

We had friends stay over this weekend, it was great to see them again. They brought all the stuff with them for a cheese fondue last night, which was delicious, and this morning we all went to our favourite Sunday morning haunt - the bakers! Where we wore the kids out and had a great breakfast. Our friends left for home from the bakers.
We spent the afternoon in the garden. We moved the rabbit "Treacle" from in the hen house to the garden. And look who he met on his way to his new home!

So cute the pair of them sniffing one another out!
Unfortunately for poor Treacle as soon as we put him in his new place, it started raining, what a great way for him to start out his outdoor life! But he does have a hutch to retreat to, so I don't really need to worry!

I had a lovely day today, one of my dearest friends, was coming to a town near me (she lives the other side of Germany now), so we met up for the afternoon. We talked non stop all afternoon. We wandered around the town in the sunshine and again no coats, just great!
We stopped another tourist just before I had to go to get them to take our picture. Well, as you can see, the person we stopped doesn't really take that many pictures, but I still like it, even if I have my eyes shut!
She actually asked what exactly we wanted on the photo, and we said "just us", oh well, we do have the main tourist attaction on the photo too now - this is Frankfurt/Main by the way! and that behind us, is the balcony where the German Football Team (soccer) stand when they win anything and want to wave to everyone!
