Library duty this morning, we haven't been in school for 2 weeks, and I think over the school holidays the kids ALL grew, it was fun to be back again.
Robert came home with me after school, and before we had even reached the car he was whining! Something about it being "Hexennacht" (Witches Night) and that he wanted to go out with his friends to get up to mischief. As it is Heike's birthday today and we were invited to there, I couldn't say yes straight off, so he was in a mood when we got in.
I emptied the book boxes back into the boys rooms this afternoon, the Thomas the Tank Engine and bob the builder anuuals didn't return, they are still in the box, with me wondering whether to save them or to pass them on to someone, but who, they are all in English.
At 3.45pm I dropped Robert off at Heike's and took Heike's husband into town to pick up his works car, and then Richard to art school. Whilst Richard was at art school, I went shopping, I was supposed to bring Robert's shoes with me to see what they say about them (the inner sole has been eaten away after only 8 weeks of wear) BUT I somehow managed to forget them. I did have rather a lot going on as we left the building, plus 2 guitars, bags and grumpy kids! Better luck next week!
Instead sorting out Robert's shoes I got myself some, mine are coming apart too!
After art school, we went straight to Heike's to celebrate with her. She loved her present, we got together and got her a cookery course, which I will be going to with her! ;o) (yes, Mum, I did an "Essel" - insider joke!)
The kids enjoyed themselves at Heike's they got a bit grumpy, when they realised they had "missed" the witching hour, but I wasn't! I let them move our letter box, when we came home, so that Daddy would think it was gone. Robert thought a great idea and did it straight away, Richard went and put it back again -and another argument commenced! AGH!!!
WEll, they were finally in bed at 10pm and both refusing to talk to me, Richard because I let Robert hide the letter box again, and Robert...not sure why, but neither said good night! Better luck tomorrow!
CU then!

Day 119
After clearing out the old drawers from the kitchen this morning, it was time to pick my friend up and head to sport. We decided to try out something new today and enrolled in a "Synergy course". I don't have a picture of us joining in, but I borrowed this one off of the sports club homepage, so you can see what it looked like.
You do all sorts of different things all around this "climbing frame" in 40 sec bursts of energy with really loud fun music. When I was on the boxing sack, the trainer put Rocky on especially! We had a great time, but I already know that tomorrow it is going to hurt!
When I got home it was time for Richard to get home too, and whilst he was doing his homework, I took a well-earned shower!
This afternoon the boys got a game on the Wii U, they are enjoying Wii U Party at the moment, they even almost managed it without arguing!
At 3.30pm I started preparing them for the fact that they both had to go out. Robert to his typing class and Richard to a football game. Richard was soooo grumpy about it! And it didn't matter how much I tried to explain nicely that its a team game and you can't just cancel last minute cause "you don't want to go", he was having none of it.
Unfortunately when I got to the meeting point, where someone was going to take him with them, it was raining (didn't help Richard's mood) and they had all just recieved a phone call, the game was cancelled. Richard was over the moon.
I don't know that I can handle these fights every week til summer, so he may well not be going to football anymore. See how he feels next week.
Even after all todays sport, I still got on the Wii U fit tonight, but I only did 10 minutes today. And since then I have been enjoying my TV evening.
Now to sort out some wedding pics to add to the post below.

Day 118
That's today, no catch up here hihi!
So up nice and bright and early and saw all my men off to school and work! Holidays are over. The cats and I then enjoyed 10 minutes of peace and quiet and then I followed the boys to school in the car to deliver their guitars and sports things.
Back home I phoned the doctor for an appointment and found I could go straight away, the spot I went about is nothing to worry about, but it was nice they saw me so quickly. So after that I headed to Kindergarden for my English lesson, which are now on Mondays. I was almost there, just driving into the village, when I saw a dog playing by the side of the very busy main road. I couldn't just leave it there, so I pulled up and walked back a bit and saved him from his playing on the road. I carried him back to the car, he didn't have a collar or anything, my first thought was Heike, but she is at work, but her husband had the day off so I stopped there to see if he recognised the dog I had in my boot. He didn't but he pointed me to the farm along our street as they have a LOT of dogs. I saw the farmer as soon as I got there, and he was very pleased to see his young dog safe and sound. That was my good deed of the day. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the dog, and I have been sufficiently told off by Richard about that! He wanted to see the dog I had saved, bless.
This afternoon was more driving back and forth, first to pick Robert up from guitar, then to take Richard and his friends to Karate. Whilst Richard was at Karate Robert and I played Wii Party on the Wii U. that was great fun, its like a board game with the TV and game pad. We definitely need to all play that one together at the weekend!

Day 106 - Day 117
Lots of catching up to do, and I am not sure I am going to do it all tonight, so I will just keep updating this post until I am all caught up again!
Day 106 - Wednesday
Packing day - I spent most of it in some sort of daze, wondering why my pile to pack into the car wasn't as big as usual. Still don't really know why but it made packing a lot easier, so much so that I let Florian do it, when he got home with the car!
Picture of the day - Lucky who wanted me to pack him and take him too!
Day 107 - Thursday
Travel day!The boys were quite happy about it, they had their TVs mp3 players and used them all day!
We met Mum and Dad at the ferry, had we actually been booked on the same one I bet that wouldn't have happened.
And we then also arrived at my aunts with only a couple of minutes difference, even though we had followed different routes from the docks. Our sat nav took us around the traffic jam at Dartford Crossing and Dad's through the traffic jam.
Day 108 - Friday
We took the boys into St. Albans for the afternoon. We went up the clock tower with them, its still a really tight fit to get up there!
We then wanted to show the boys the abbey, they were not in the least interested and really misbehaved.
They didn't even want to go and have a drink and cake, we were really mean and made them watch us have a hot chocolate instead. They weren't too happy about that, and I think they got the message after that! Kids!
Back tomorrow with the wedding and London! Off to bed now!
Back again with some Wedding pictures
Day 109 - Saturday
I spent the day taking pictures and I took a LOT, so instead of making it too hard, I just grabbed a couple and tomorrow I start work on the wedding book - wish me luck!
So here are the happy couple
And all of their wedding guests
At the venue the bride had thought of just about everything, there were posters all around
even the cake knife had been engraved
and what a lovely cake it was!
It was a stunning day and if anyone here in Germany asks how it was I just ask them to remember the weddings in "4 weddings and a funeral" without the drama and mishaps. I loved taking the pictures and enjoying the day.
Bedtime again, so still not quite caught up and I am sure I am missing plenty more pictures that you would love to see, but you'll have to wait for the book!

Day 105
Not a really exciting day today, I cooked lunch for us and my friends - goulash with a potatoe and camembert topping! It was a lot of work, I seemed to be cooking for most of the morning, but it was delicious, I just don't know when I will have the time to cook it again.
After lunch, I left the boys watching a film on TV, whilst I went to the hairdressers for my "make me younger again" session! And when I got back I sent Robert, only he just had a haircut!
No worries, we'll have washed the colour out in time for the wedding on Saturday! ;o)
And that in a nutshell was our day!

Day 104
Hihi! It's Monday and I am not playing catch up! Go me!
So first day of school holidays today. The boys were up before me, we had breakfast when I got up at 8am, then we set off to get the right bits for the cupboard. First stop on our outing was Lidl, they had scarves on offer and I wanted one to go with my outfit that I got for the wedding. Got that, then it was on to the furniture store.
The people were very nice there, even though to start they couldn't help us, as they had sold out of that cupboard, but when we were over at customer service putting in a complaint, the guy who had served us earlier came in out of breath with the two correct pieces of wood with him! Woohoo! It would have been a long wait otherwise!
On our way out of the store, the boys tried out various seats that we might get for their room!
From there it was on to do the shopping, then I took the boys to a clothes shop and got them some trousers. Now they have one pair of non-holey or green-kneed trousers to go to England with!
This afternoon both boys went to Robert's friend whilst his friends Mum and I went to sport! Going together is so much fun, we really enjoyed wearing ourselves out! So much so, that we will be going again together on Wednesday morning!

Day 103
We were busy today getting the boys room ready for them to move back in, and guess what - we were successful! Heike's husband helped Florian build the new cupboard and the old beds back up, but not until we all had a lovely breakfast together. Robert and Richard popped by upstairs every so often to help too. Here some pictures of the work in progress and the finished room.

Day 102
First stop on our tour today was Heike's to take a family photo for them. They are going to use it on their wedding invitations. This is the one they chose:
From there we went to Lidl to get the double sided sticky tape to stick the silver foil behind the radiator. Supposed to help keep the heat in the room.
then it was off to a different shopping centre to get the boys their Easter presents. Richard is getting a new camera, this one specifically says that it is "shock proof" maybe this time it won't break! And we got Robert an mp3 player. They were with us, but luckily for us, there was a toy shop next door, and we left them to roam there!
Next door was a clothes shop, and I found a dress for next weeks wedding there! It's a LBD (little black dress) with a pick bolero jacket. I look very classy in it! And I checked that I could move in it, it would be no good if the photographer couldn't move! ;o)
After that we split up, Florian took the boys to play badminton, and I went food shopping. The boys had a great time, look at these smiles on their faces!
And here a couple of them in action!
This afternoon Florian worked on the boys room and put a new skirting board down, so that our friends could help us get the radiator back on again!
Whilst they were here we made the most of it, and barbecued - yummy! Here some of the things we had.
Only some, there was still freshly baked bread, and 3 other salads! The weather was lovely too, we were sat outside until gone 8pm! Still can't quite believe that!

Day 101
Work this morning, I was very busy burning CDs today - 50(!) altogether. And once I had burnt them I had to find another computer to check all 50 and make sure they were OK. That kept me busy and out of mischief!
I picked both kids up from Heike's after work. Today was the last day of school before the Easter holidays, so they were home earlier than I could be! And again my kids invited themselves round for lunch. And after peeping in the oven, I did too!
But I did leave with both boys after lunch. We were back home and already they were complaining about being bored...oh dear, what are they going to do in the holidays!
I sent them both outside to feed our animals and to play! And at 3pm they went to the playground to see who they could find. Robert found his friends there, but Richard didn't so he came home again, and I sent him to Heike, where I knew there were lots of his friends from school! I got on with the lawnmowing. After that I made some bread for tea, and then I followed Heike's invitation and went round for brownies! Look at this, worth taking a break for I can assure you!

Day 100
Robert and I had a lovely day! It was his school class outing today and it was great fun. We were picked up at school by bus about 8am, and set of to a salt mine (it was about a 90 minute drive). A couple of years ago we went to a coal mine in Wales, I was expecting something very similar. It wasn't! This mine was so spacious and airy it was weird. We got down underground and got into two large lorries to go around the mine. Apparently we drove 20km in all underground. Amazing! Here a few pictures from the tour.
They have a concert hall down there, where they did a laser light show for us.
And there is a crystal cave too - that was so stunning and these pictures hardly do it justice!
We were running a bit late after our tour there, and got to our lunch a bit late. Lunch for everyone was Schnitzel and chips, very yummy!
After lunch it was off to the Wartburg
At this castle Luther translated the bible from Greek into a common German language - he was the first to attempt to find a common German language. The kids had a special tour of the castle and the adults that had joined the trip had time to themselves. 4 of us chose to do a tour too. Here some of the things we saw on the tour (Robert told me that he saw these too)
We were ready to leave at 5pm. The closer it got to that time the bigger my grin got, cause I thought the football trainer needed to be taught a lesson. He didn't listen when I said on Monday that I thought the game ,today at 6pm was asking for a bit much. And so it was (can you hear me going na-na-na-nana) we returned home at 6.30pm. I was shocked to see the trainer waiting there, he had left the game at half time to get the kids off the bus to rush them to the game to play. Too bad, Robert wasn't having none of it. He told me that he didn't want to go, he never gets picked to play anyways....I wasn't complaining!
We went back, picked Richard up from a different sports ground, where he had had a game, and then back home.
I am worn out now and looking forward to my bed, so I'll hurry up and add the pictures now!

Day 99
I had library duty this morning, I was standing in for a Mum who can no longer help out as she now has gone back to work. So I was working with someone different, we had a good catch up!
This afternoon Richard and I dropped Robert off with a friend and we went to art school. Whilst Richard was there I went to the mall and had a look there to see if I could see anything to wear for the wedding. Nothing like leaving it to the last minute. I didn't really see anything much, I did try on a couple of dresses, but they did nothing for me. So not sure what I am going to do now, but I am sure I'll come up with something.
After picking Richard up we drove to Robert's football match. We stopped at home first for Richard's headphones and my heart rate watch. Then off to football we went. We got there and I fully intended to stay and watch, but there were no Mum's there that I knew so I changed my mind. I left Richard playing and listening to his mp3 player and went for my walk. That blew the cobwebs away. And it is so pretty in the woods now with the new fresh green coming through!
When I got back I did actually watch the match and afterwards there was a sort of "parents meeting". Won't go ranting about that, but I will say that I am still not a big fan of football!

Day 98
When don't I have a busy day! Well it was only a busy morning really. I was at Aldi just after it opened at 8am. I got there in beautiful sunshine, but sometime whilst I was in there, it started chucking it down! I don't think it has rained for a while now, cause I wasn't quite sure how to pack the shopping in the rain, I got drowned trying to hurry myself!
Back home I had time to unpack the shopping, and then I set off for an English lesson at Kindergarden. Last week I was sure the kids had learnt nothing, but they surprised me and knew all about Easter today! Bless! I had taken them a chocolate Easter bunny as I won't be seeing them now til after Easter.
After English I went into town to pick my friend up, she had had a doctors appointment and needed some help, I was happy to do that for her. Only problem was laughing hurt her, and although I didn't mean to, I kept making her laugh! Oops!
After lunch, Richard went with his friends to their Dad to play, and at 4pm Robert went to his typing lesson. Heike popped round about then and we had a bit of cake together then went to sort out our rabbit. He has now had a haircut and some more eye drops. He looks a lot happier and healthier now.
When I put the boys to bed tonight, Robert said his tummy itched, but this time he has a rash not spots. Poor boy, I'm hoping it will all be gone in the morning. Fingers xed!

Day 94, Day 95, Day 96 and Day 97
Day 94 - Friday
When I left work on Friday, I was about 30 minutes early, so I thought I would perhaps go and do a bit of window shopping, but first I wanted to drop off something in the car. When I came out of the car park by the busstop, I bumped in to my friend who was waiting for the bus home. Quick change of plan then and we both went home together. Funny how some things just sort themselves out!
It was such lovely weather in the afternoon I sent the boys out to play in the sunshine and I joined them outside and did some weeding and things around the garden. That was cut a bit short though, when I managed to slice into my finger with a bit of grass - yep, grass, that can be really nasty sometimes! It took a while to get the bleeding to stop and I also had to retrace my steps and mop up the trail I had left when I came in from the garden!
Roberts friend came round for an English lesson and after that they played in the garden for a little bit, and then went to his house to play some more!
Florian had told me he was going to be late home, and when he got home at just before 9 I was pleased, cause I was expecting a different kind of "late"!
Day 95 - Saturday
Florian set up our new router this morning and so far so good. I can use the phone all over the kitchen now (even at the fridge) that didn't work before.
After lunch we all headed off out for Robert to take part in the Speed4 finals. This is something that was organised by the school. They only had to run 6 metres, but it was all about reaction times and speed throught those 6 metres. At school he did the course in 5.52 and at the finals he got it down to 5.2 seconds. That wasn't enough to come in the top ten of his age group, but we were pretty impressed and proud of him! Plus he was the only one of his year to make the effort and go to the final! Here some shots of him racing! I got a video too, but I haven't had a chance to shrink it yet.
After the race we went to a furniture shop and bought the boys a cupboard for their "new" bedroom. And from there we went to Florian's sister for a bbq.
We had a lovely evening there, even if it was a bit of surprise for my SIL, who had planned an evening of correcting exam papers!
The boys were over the moon to see their cousins again!
Day 96 - Sunday
A day of wallpapering today, so not really much to report. BUT we did get it all done! One step closer to finishing the room.
The boys spent the day playing outside or on the tablet/mobile phone or watching TV, not really very good choices, but it gave us the chance to get it all done without them fighting or such!
Day 97 - Monday
Busy day again. First I started both the dishwasher and washing machine on their chores, then I took the boys and their guitars to school. After that I picked up my friend and we went to sport. We fully intended to do our thing, which is normally 15 minutes cycling then whatever it takes on the machines there. Well today we changed our plans, or should I say Julia (my friend) changed our plans. We ended up taking part in the what they called "weight training", and yes it sounds as bad as it was. Afterwards we felt great that we had made it, but during, oh dear!
Someone was filming whilst we were doing it, and after I found these pictures on Facebook - proof, that I really did do some weight lifting! Go me! (I am the one near the back in fluorescent pink!)
this afternoon was once again spent getting my boys to the right places at the right time. And oops, I forgot taht I had a girl coming round for an English lesson! Luckily she lives in the village was was able to try again to find me!
Off to bed now
CU tomorrow!

Day 93
Work in the morning, nothing much to report from there. I had lunch on my own as Richard was round Heike's "again". Robert came home from school in a good mood. He got top marks (1*) on his folder about Fulda, and extra points for his photo story about our morning out in Fulda! So pleased for him.
I didn't pick him up from school today his friend's Dad offered to, as he was in town anyways. And even though he didn't have to come home on the bus, he only had 30 minutes at home before he had to go out to football training.
Just after Robert had set off Richard came home to get ready for his training. I joined him there and did my own training. One of the other Mums came with me this time, so I was a bit slower on my round, but I had a good old chat!
I had to leave Richard's training before he did, to be home in time for Robert getting home. Another Mum brought Richard home. And both Richard and Robert got home at the same time.
We had guests for tea. Heike's girls heard that we were having freshly baked bread for tea and asked if they could come too. It made for a lovely change!
This afternoon aside from baking bread I also did some experimenting in the kitchen, and tried my hand at making my own Crunchies. I made the honeycomb in the afternoon. And this evening after that had set, I covered them in chocolate. I tried quite a few crumbs, and I can't wait to try the finished thing in the morning. For now the chocolate is setting in the fridge. And just incase anyone fancies trying this too, I used this recipe and instructions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKdPHIF1Y1I

Day 92
Library this morning, I remembered before leaving that the first class into the library was Roberts and that he was writing a test, so we didn't need to get there until the second lesson, unfortunately the first teacher after that had swapped her slot so we were there too early after all! Never mind, we had a good natter instead!
We also sorted out some books that we think the library still needs, so tonight I went shopping in a used book shop!
After the boys had done there homework, we went into town this afternoon. The main reason was to get their glasses fitted properly as Robert was complaining of his falling off of his nose - can't have that! It was also a good excuse to make the most of the sunshine and go to the ice cream parlour! We all had spaghetti ice cream, but all a different sort. Robert had his traditionally but with extra strawberries, Richard had his with chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla, and I had mine with chocolate sauce and bananas! So good!
After that Robert and I dropped Richard off at Karate and went shopping for the rabbits, then it was back to watch Richard do his first ever Karate test.
He did really well and got a certificate, he didn't quite pass the test for the white belt, but he only goes to training once a week, whereas his friends go twice. Looks like it won't be long before he cancels art school too, so he can go twice a week. We'll see!
I promised the boys that after the test we would go to McDonalds for tea. What I didn't realise is that we wouldn't be finished til 8pm! Oops! Never mind, we went anyway and they were really excited about it. I did manage to have the boys in bed by 8.45pm, I hope they manage it out of bed in the morning. Speaking of which, I should be heading there too.

Day 91
I was really busy today but the good kind of busy, the sort where at the end of the day, you actually feel like you accomplished something. Feels good!
So first thing in the morning I went shopping for the week, then it was back home for a bit before I went to Kindergarden for my English lesson. I took some jigsaws and a game in for them, I didn't take all I still have left in though, I think I might try selling them at the autumn flea markets, where people might be thinking of Xmas presents! Until then I need to get the boxes out of the way, haven't done that yet.
After English I picked up my friend for sports. They have a new course plan out as of tomorrow, so I will be moving my English lessons to Mondays so we can try this new sport out that they do earlier on a Tuesday morning! I'm looking forward to that!
I cooked something new for lunch, well sort of, we had chicken, rice and broccoli and I made a peanut sauce to go with it, it was just like at the chinese. I LOVED it, the boys weren't impressed though. But they loved the other bits, so they didn't go hungry!
After the boys had finished their homework we all went into the garden. The boys fed the animals for me, and I got the lawnmower out. It took a few goes to get it working, petrol helped some, but wobbling all the wires helped more! And then I mowed all of the lawn, in the hope that I would get rid of all the critters that were eating Robert up.
Here he is after I had finished seeing if it worked!
(only two bites this evening, so I think it was a success!)
Richard went to the playground with his friends to practice his Karate for the test tomorrow, and at 4pm Robert went to his typing course. I got busy then in the front garden and dug out all the dandelions that were thinking of taking root there!
This is one of the pretty flowers I found growing in the front garden, it's called a Pulsatilla (Easter flower) and the birds must have planted it there, but very pretty! (and that dandelion in front of it, is now gone!)
See I was really busy, but I have plenty to show for it. Tomorrow I won't know whether the muscle ache comes from sport or gardening, but it was all worth it!
