Day 59

Busy day for us all today. This morning we had a breakfast date. Only today not at "our" bakers. We went to a Turkish restaurant in town, where they have an oriental breakfast buffet. It was very nice, but not quite as relaxed as the bakers. Mainly because the boys had to sit at the table all the time and no running around. But the buffet was delicious, and it made a nice change.

Then this afternoon we took the boys to the theatre. I thought it was going to be a puppet show, and was VERY pleased when it was a children's theatre production. It was "Räuber Hotzenplotz" which is about a thief. It was very well done for the kids, involving them and everything. And afterwards they explained that the "naughty" thief is really just an actor and they do not need to be frightened. He took his wig and beard off so that they could see. And for my boys this was really important, and so far so good no nightmares.
My friend had got there early to get the tickets and as she was first there she got free choice of the seats. And we got front row seats for the kids! We were behind them. here are Robert and Richard before it all started.About 10 minutes into the show they were on our laps! I'm surprised they lasted 10 minutes, they get a bit scared!

Sorry girls, I forgot to take pics of the shoes, I'll try to remember tomorrow. But I did wear a pair today and yep they really are comfy! And it was nice to NOT be in snow boots anymore!

Day 58

OK, anyone else have ALIENS moved in with them today! We have two!!!! its full moon again and don't we know it! Richard spent most of the day screaming or having a paddy, and Robert wasn't that much better! It has been a LONG day!

Florian wanted to take them both out on their bikes this afternoon, but Richard even had a paddy about that, so the lucky boy got to stay indoors and watch Mummy iron! Robert and Florian never did get to ride on their bikes but Robert had great fun giving the hen house a spring clean with Daddy. Here he is beforehand feeding the chickens!
I have either a cold coming or some sort of allergy, I have not stopped sneezing all day. I have removed all the smellies I had in the lounge in the hope of some relief, but I am not sure it has worked...I have never had hayfever or anything like that, so I am hoping that it is a cold..at least that would go away again soon

Day 57

This morning was coffee morning (well juice for me) with the girls from the kindergarden committee, we have organised a parent's night out next Thursday at the local "pub" (only open one night a week, so not sure it qualifies as a pub really) and we needed to sort out the agenda. It was a great chat, not very productive, but we have a few days to go yet! hihi!

In the afternoon we got to pick Florian up from the station, its good to have him home. But before coming home we went to a very dangerous store! Mediamarkt - I wanted a portable hard drive, for my scrapbooking, and they had one on offer...it's great, its really compact and small. Now if they send me and the kids on convalescence for weeks on end, I will have all I need to keep me happy (except internet, but maybe that will be there too)!
Whilst there the boys strolled over to the Wii section of the shop, and oops we came home with a new game, but I mean who can resist the chance to ride on Yoshi...(thats the cute dragon thing on the box!)
Florian is out doing his sport for his back, finally he doesn't have to stay home because of all the snow! Yep, it really is nearly gone, and I am NOT listening or looking at the weather, just in case winter hasn't gone, cause I am really enjoying the warmer weather. I can even see crocuses sprouting!

Day 56

Well, I had a fun and different sort of morning. I went shopping for a birthday present for our friends daughter, I got some cute girly playmobil. Then whilst out, I noticed the shoe shop next door was having a sale. Not sure why I actually went in, cause I really am not a "shoe" girl. In fact I hate shoe shopping. But in I went, and I wandered round and saw THREE pairs of shoes I liked the look of. VERY unusual for me. I went and got some socks to put on to try them on (also very unusual that I actually try something on), the first pair were some beige sandals, wow, they fitted perfectly, no pinching, rubbing or anything. Mmh, I thought. Then I tried on some shoes, smart trainers. They fitted too...by now I was getting suspicious. Then I tried on some shoes that I thought looked good, but most definitely couldn't really be comfy, but they were (plateau sandals).
Something very unusual was happening, I had three pairs of shoes I not only liked, but that were comfy. So I bought them all! I still can't believe it!

This afternoon we made the most of the springlike weather, and we went out and shovelled some snow!! No really, we did, well the boys did. They shovelled it from the top of the "mountain" back down on to the path where I spread it about so that it melted..it's looking good! Sometime soon I will be able to look out of the window and not see the white stuff - yippee!

Day 55

School today for the boys, and 45minutes more than last term. I was sceptical, but Richard proved me wrong, he was really good today and seemed to enjoy it. I went shopping for the first 90 minutes, and joined them for the last 45. I thought if it is all too much for Richard, then I am there to "save" the teacher. But they were fine.

This afternoon they watched a Tweenies film, whilst I dozed. In other words a really boring day for my blog. I didn't even take any pictures. So guess who is going to be starring! Sunny!
This is the look I get when I have food in my hands, but take my time giving it to him! Too cute!

Day 54

Busy day at work, lots to translate, but nothing much to report.
when we got home I had missed a call from the health insurance, I phoned them back and it was about the convalescence we have applied for for Robert. I started the procedure in December and they keep coming up with new ways to delay it all, and today was no exceptions. Apparently the doctor filled the form in wrong - the fact that the form is for adults and Robert is 5, may well have something to do with that....Anyways, they annoyed me, so I had to bend Mum's ear after that and get it out of my system! Thanks for letting me, Mum!

I actually remembered to get a picture today, I decided to take a picture of the march up to bed at bedtime, its so cute as they both always have an armful of teddy bears to go with them. I have to walk behind them and pick up those they drop! Too cute! They wanted to play silly for the camera, I didn't actually understand what they were saying here, but it made for funny faces!

Day 53

Florian left home around 6am this morning and when he said bye-bye I asked him, if it had snowed, it was a relief when he said no. BUT when I got up at 7am everything was white again, and it was still snowing. Today though it was very wet snow, and it did all go before I got back from work, but not what I was hoping to get up too!
So this morning I was at work, nothing to report from there, except that they seem to really be considering letting me work from home, we'll see!

When I picked the boys up from Kindergarden, Robert told me that he was not going to be naughty ever again, and it seemed to work today too. Not sure what prompted this, but if he keeps it up, it'll be fine by me. He did tell me, that he would get a pile of presents because he was being a good boy. I asked if he meant for his birthday and he said, no from Father Xmas. Seems like that it still working its magic. Too cute!

It rained most of the afternoon, melting quite a bit of the snow...so it was indoors play again. The boys played on the Wii, and Richard at one point was feeding his new dinosaur, which he got from my brother and family at the weekend.. here it is eating a lizard!CU tomorrow

Day 51 and Day 52

So yesterday we spontaneously visited my Mum and Dad. Florian got home at 11am, I made him come on the bus, when I tested the road it was too slippy for me and then it started trying to snow, so the bus was best!
Once home we were chatting and I said "Dad still hasn't got his internet working" and Florian said, we'd better go and visit then. So we did, poor Mum and Dad were not expecting us, but I think they enjoyed having us there! ;o)
But before we set off, we took the boys to "Old McDonalds" (yep, they sing the song too) for lunch. Bit of a hiccup there, when the toy from Robert's happy meal turned out to be a bracelet with hidden lip gloss! But they changed it for him...(I won't say that Florian chose the toy, cause that would be embarassing for him, so shhhhhh!!!)

My brother and family came round too and we all went out in the evening for a meal, it was good. Unfortunately Dad has an evil virus on his computer, that may or may not be gone, but has caused some damage (as in IE won't open, can't install firefox, and all sorts of other blue screens!), Florian managed to bypass the problem, but it isn't really solved...

This is the kids at the restaurant, they were all four as good as gold, and that even though it was way past their bedtime. They slept all the way home bless them.

Sunday
Well, even though the boys never got into bed until 10.15pm (in the car at 9pm), they were still wide awake at 7.30am. I got up with them to turn the TV on, and I did a double take when I looked out of our bedroom window at this!!!For me, that is a nightmare! 20 cm in the night! AGH!!! And me hoping for spring! (somewhere on that picture there is a road...!!!)
The first thing I did (after turning on the TV for the boys) was take pictures all around to send to Mum!
Then I got myself dressed and out there to sweep the paths!

This afternoon we went for a little walk to Kindergarden with the bumslides for the boys. It did us good to get some fresh air...
We also took a couple of family photos, I'm going to post both, cause I like them both.(Richard was not happy on the last one, he wanted to push the timer button and we wouldn't let him, so he refused to look at the camera, seeing as he couldn't get out of Daddy's bear hug!

It was the "Hutzelfeuer" tonight, the big bonfire to chase away winter..but as the boys were so late to bed last night, we didn't want them being late again today, so we didn't go. Plus it is really muddy and wet up there, not ideal for standing around. Much better in here in front of our logfire I think!

Day 50

So both kids at Kindergarden today, Robert said he had a headache still but once we stepped outside the front door, he pretended to be a kangaroo or was it a rabbit, all the way to the car! Mmh, not the sort of thing you do with a headache!

I had a bit of a shock on my way home from taking them to Kindergarden. Kindergarden is on a hill, and so is the carpark. When I left I started off down the hill, but when I came to break, nothing happened, and I had no control over the car as we went down. I have ABS on the car and it kicked in, but still nothing. Luckily nothing was coming on the main road, and as the hill leveled out a bit, I came to a stop right on the kerb. Phew - nightmare experience though. I immediately cancelled my plans to buy a new frying pan (don't need one today!) and also phoned friends whose b-day party was tonight, that I wouldn't be driving down (120km one way). After that I didn't have the nerve, plus it was cold and wet all day, could mean even more black ice!

And that was the most exciting thing today - housework most of the morning, the boys played on the Wii this afternoon. And Florian won't be home until tomorrow morning some time, cause he had a course that ran too late today.

Oh and the weather report, aside from the wet... the snow is melting, look grass!!!I used an action on the photo to lighten the snow up some, thanks Jennifer! (you can get it at her store at SUN tomorrow)

Day 49

Another long day with the boys, Robert was feeling a lot better today, and was really cheeky with it - not going to dwell on it, but it wore me out! So much so, that I even let them play Playdoh without supervision!
Yep, they were in the kitchen with it, whilst I was relaxing in the lounge watching the logfire crackle! It did me good the break!

Having said that, when they came downstairs this afternoon they were REALLY cute! I mean, look at themI had to laugh!
So now for the weather report - it has started to melt! Yep the snow is no longer 30cm deep its probably only 25 now! Shame about tomorrows forecast though...I hope they got it wrong!
OK, Masterchef on TV now, going to go and drool over all the delicious things they cook and then raid the fridge! ;o)

Day 48

Day 2 of Robert home all day, and already the antibiotics seem to be doing the trick. So this morning we spent most of it, tidying up the boys bedroom together. Robert was NOT pleased about this, he kept trying to get out of the tidying up process, in the end, I left him in his room and told him that he had to do it on his own as he wouldn't help! I left him to think about it for about 5 minutes then went back and asked if he was going to help now. yes he was, so we did actually get it finished!
So now I can actually get at his drawers to get clothes out for him in the morning! And Richard can reach the books on the shelves, without falling over things!

This afternoon the boys had way too much energy, but we couldn't really do anything about it, they wouldn't sit still whilst watching "Madagascar". They wanted to play Ludo, but after the fourth time one of them wiped the board clean, because of all their fidgeting, I gave up! They then played with their teddy bears. here they are when they were still playing nicelyAbout 5 minutes after that, the teddies started being naughty and hitting oneanother! AGH!
Needless to say, I was ready for bedtime when it came!
now to do some scrapping therapy!

Day 47

Well its official, Robert has tonsilitis again - lots of little icky white spots all over them. The doctor also said that his ears were affected too, so its more antibiotics and the rest of the week off of Kindergarden!
My cold fortunately is getting better, but today we all took it nice and easy. We watched more of the Olympics, the boys played with their marble track again, and in the middle of the afternoon the boys had a "Kräppel" (the German doughnuts) I got some good shots of them eating them. The doctor did say it is catching what Robert has, so I have had to cancel a b-day party tomorrow and my tupperware party on Thursday (well only postponing that - until April), but as they are forecasting even more snow come Thursday it may be better this way anyway. Although the prospect of more snow...I HAVE HAD ENOUGH NOW.
I'll take a pic of it all tomorrow, so you know just how much we still have...

Day 46

Work for me this morning, it felt like I was the only one there, carnival time in Germany and today is the highlight of it all, processions all over the place and most people have the day off to join in the fun. I chose to work, and as Kindergarden was closed today Florian had the day off to look after the kids for me!
Not much to report from work, I did get a very cute picture sent to me there. Richard has a new hobbyhe loves combing his hair. He even sent Florian downstairs, because "I am still busy" - so Florian got the camera out and sent me the cute shot!

This afternoon we had the recap of last night's Olympics on, today was the pairs short programme, Richard was fascinated and wanted to try it out too. Here he is in a lift!Robert who also has something to say about everything said "they had to practise years and years to be able to do that"!

We took Florian to the station after watching the Olympics and playing Ludo. Once home it was tea and then bed for the boys. Robert still has a high temperature, so tomorrow we are off to the doctors again. I played doctor myself and to me it looks like tonsilitis again, but I would rather she diagnosed it before I get antibiotics (still have a prescription we didn't need last time).

Day 44 and Day 45

So I'll start with yesterday first.
I have Florian's cold now, but I am determined not to let it beat me! but I did take it easy all day, Florian got up with the boys so I got a bit of a lay in. And the rest of the day was spent watching TV, playing with the boys and scrapping, sounds good to me! Oh, and I also helped Florian get some (lots) of wood down from the top of the barn to saw and chop up for the fire..
I did keep popping outside to check he was still all in one piece, I get a bit worried when he has the saw going or is using the axe!

And at 9pm my friends came round and off we went to the Party in the village, but not before Florian took a picture of us all in our matching costumes, and yes we know they are not the most flattering of costumes, but it didn't stop us having funI've blurred their faces, cause I am not sure they would want to be on here..., but I wanted you to see our grinning faces, they stayed that way throughout the evening!
It wasn't only dancing and having fun, they had lots of local dancing groups there doing show dancing, they were BRILLIANT, makes me wish I was still in my early 20s and up there performing too. Don't think I'd have the puff for it now, plus I'd stick out amongst the 16 year olds now!

We got home (we all live practically next to oneanother) at 1.45am! Oops! Robert woke up just as I was drifting off to sleep at 2am! He had lost his dreamcatcher stone...grrrr! And at 2.30am he was calling me again, I tried so hard to ignore him, but he wasn't giving up...he needed a wee!
At 6am it was up again, more wee-wees! And I think they got up and were stood at my bedside at 6.30am! I sent them back in their room and when they called the next time, I prodded Florian, and rolled over! I finally got up at about 9am. I was drinking apple juice all evening and I woke up this morning with a headache...not fair!! Just like a hangover but without the fun buzz the night before!

Today it was Robert's turn to come down with the cold, of course in Robert's case this meant another fever and lots of whining and tears. I checked his throat at bedtime and he has tonsilitis again. Unfortunately because of carnival and all the processions tomorrow, the doctor is closed, so he will have to wait til Tuesday for medicine.

Robert even put himself to bed at lunchtime, unheard of normally! whilst he was asleep, the rest of us watched some of the Olympics. Richard was so excited, that it was just like on the Wii! so cute! When Robert woke up he was feeling a bit better and here he is enjoying the speed skating! So after my really late night yesterday it is time I got myself to bed, I have to work tomorrow, not everywhere is closed for carnival!

Day 43

More snow to shovel this morning (told you I'd be back with a weather report) and it has snowed more or less continually all day! But enough about that...
I also promised you elephants...well aren't they the cutest!
It was the boys "Faschings-Party" (carnival - as in mardi gras - party) and the theme was "In the Jungle". We have had these hats since Richard was 1 I think, and normally we wear them (yes, I have one too) to the carnival parade, but this year they were just perfect for the Jungle party!

This afternoon the boys really wanted to build a box or cupboard with Daddy, the sort you buy at IKEA, sometimes they have "great" ideas. Well we didn't have anything like that to build so Robert decided he wanted to make pompoms. They are about half way there. Richard's is so neatly done, and Robert's not so, it will be interesting to see the finished thing! I think though with pompoms it doesn't really matter, how neat and tidy you are winding the wool, we'll see!

I am fighting Florian's cold now, can't stop sneezing today, so not a good sign. I hope it goes away cause tomorrow is "Girls Night Out" for me!

Day 42

I'll try not to sound as grumpy now as I have been for most of the day - it has been snowing all day, and I am so ready for Spring and it is not happening!
We were out sweeping snow too many times for my liking. I had to put my foot down to Florian this afternoon, he is signed off sick, has a bad back, and at 5pm he wanted to go out and sweep again. And if he couldn't do that, then he would go and chop wood! I told him, with a stamp of my foot that no he would not!
And out I went to sweep the snow AGAIN!, and there will be more waiting for me in the morning. Uhoh starting to sound grumpy again (and like a weather girl)...
so what else is new around here.

Robert played on the Wii most of the afternoon, Richard didn't want to play, he went upstairs and came back down with the box of marble track!funny how kids can be so different. Robert needs help deciding what to play and Richard just disappeared and came back with this and spent most of the afternoon playing with it! Too cute!

CU tomorrow for another weather report and some elephants...(hihi that'll keep you guessing!!!)

Day 41

AGH!! more snow! Poor Florian it made me a bit grumpy this morning, I have just had enough snow for this winter, but no one is listening to me!

This morning was Robert and Richard's German lesson. the other two kids in the course want extra tuition, so we will now have to go for an extra hour on a Wednesday, we could also go on a Thursday for 45minutes, but I don't really want to do that, we'll see how we go, with the extra hour on Wednesdays for now.
This afternoon Florian went out to clear up the damage I had done by not sweeping the last lot of snow! He had to hack at it with a spade and then shovel it away. The boys went out and joined him, whilst I was cooking dinner. Florian hacked and Robert shovelled
looks like they were working well together!
It's still snowing now, so more shovelling tomorrow!

Day 40

Work today for me, and I finally got to meet my new boss - only took 40 days! Having said that he was very apologetic and it seems like it might be good that we have a new boss, so fingers crossed. I may even get to work from home...we'll see!

Coming home was nice today too, although Florian and the boys weren't back from Kindergarden yet, but the house was all cosy, cause Florian had had the fire on all day! It did feel nice.
what was funny though was the strange smell in the house and Florian couldn't smell it, I finally worked it out though it is his medicine, it has a eucalyptus in it, and I think that is what I could smell when I came in. Funny!

so this evening I remembered I hadn't taken a picture, so Florian grabbed the camera and took some of me, I liked this one the best!CU tomorrow

Day 39

A different sort of Monday today - Florian stayed home to go to the doctor and he has a viral something or other and has to stay home this week. As we only have one car here now (the other is where he works) he had to get up early and take the boys to Kindergarden and me to work. then it was off to the doctors for him, and at 12 he came back to pick me up.

At lunchtime Roberts best friend phoned to ask if he could come and visit, so this afternoon we had visitors (his friend came with his Mum)
The boys enjoyed having their friend round to playsorry about the silliness! They are like that!
This evening we have been watching TV, I have been introducing Florian to the programmes he misses during the week. Right now we are watching "Glee"!

Day 37 and Day 38

No excuse as to why I didn't post yesterday I don't really know.

Florian was feeling really rotten yesterday, I let him sleep and got the kids downstairs just after 7am, so it was a really early day for the rest of us.
I let them watch probably a bit too much TV, but they loved it, even more so as they were in their pyjamas.
After lunch, whilst the boys were still upstairs playing I left poor Florian in charge and went shopping. I tried a new supermarket that has just recently opened. I thoroughly enjoyed it there. I was really nicely laid out, and I had timed the shopping well, cause the shop was really empty too. It was a nice break from the boys too.

I bought "Kräppel" back for my "boys" (they are German doughnuts without a hole but filled with jam), Robert thought it was Xmas again I think, he loved his. Richard didn't give up on his either. I don't like them, so I just watched everyone enjoying them. Typing this now, a picture of the boys covered in sugar would have been great. But I didn't take a single picture all day.
In fact I only remembered during a chat at Scrap Orchard, so I took one of the chat! hihi!I won a $6 coupon at the chat for some templates by Scrapping with Liz. So I had fun this morning shopping there!
In the evening we watched "Music and Lyrics" with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore, it was great fun, so 80's!

Sunday
I let Florian sleep again this morning but his back got him out of bed much earlier than expected.
We had another pretty lazy day, but I did take the boys out this afternoon for 1.5 hour. We went to the Kindergarden playground for some sledging fun. Well the boys did the sliding I took pictures! And on the way back as Mum keeps asking how are snow is doing I got another shot of our road, doesn't really look any better does it.
At least it looks no worse!

Day 36

I got some good post this morning, a special offer from Center Parcs, so guess what, we booked! The week after Easter we will be going with Mum and Dad and my nieces! I'm already really excited, especially as the countdown on the site, said it is only 60 days away! By then it will be spring and all the white stuff should be gone!

and that was about the most exciting thing that happened today. Unless you count our paper lady. This morning I wanted to read our newspaper (a terrible tragedy happened in the village next to ours yesterday, and I wanted some more information - 16 year old fell on the ice at the station and onto the tracks in front of the oncoming train) anyhow, we only get the paper at the weekend (Fri - Mon) and this morning for some strange reason I only got a bit of our paper. I phoned to get it redelivered, and the paper lady came just before lunch. She was a bit grumpy complaining she had to go into town to get one for me, then jumped back in her car and was gone. When I looked down, I thought it strange it hd a different picture on the front. Even more strange that it was Saturdays paper, and then I was annoyed cause it was LAST Saturdays paper. Weird! I phoned again, and when she redelivered it this time, she did not ring the bell, but put it in the letterbox...mmh?!

This afternoon the boys and I played "pairs", they are getting really good, but today I won by one pair! I don't think i stand much chance soon!
Off to bed now

Day 35

So today I HAD to get the car out and drive in this weather! No sun today and the snow was not melting! But today was Robert's important meeting with the school doctor to determine whether he can start school in the summer.
He did really well and he will be starting school with no problems in the summer. I thought it funny that a doctor with a Russian accent was telling me that it is good he is taking German lessons, but I didn't say anything, just smiled!
I think Robert enjoyed the tests, he was so proud of himself afterwards that he got all of them right (well most of them). He had to say which pieces were missing, which were the same, count, draw and repeat silly words and full sentences. There was also a sight test and hearing test. I was sort of expecting the sight test not to be so good, but he passed with flying colours. With Florian and I being so shortsighted, it wasn't what I was expecting, but it is great news. However saying that Richard didn't want to lay back on my lap today cause then he wouldn't be able to see the TV, so I think maybe Richard needs a trip to the optician!

The boys spent the afternoon on the Wii whilst I got all the ironing done - lots and lots of shirts!
So no pictures of that, but I did take a picture of what Richard made at Kindergardenmore snow, indoors this time! ;o)

Well, sometime in the night it finally stopped snowing! But I think we have enough snow here to host the olympics! Vancouver if you need some, drop us a line!
having said that, we wanted to go sledging this afternoon, BUT the snow was too deep for the sledges! We ended up playing in the neighbours garden instead, because guess what THE SUN CAME OUT!
it was beautiful to see it again, did us all a lot of good, even if it was pretty cold!

this is our road this afternoon, so much snow! I pulled the boys on the sledge to our friends house, we were nearly there when they remembered they needed their snow shovels, here they are running back to me and the sledgeUnfortunately the forecast is for more snow tomorrow, shame i would have preferred more sunshine!

Day 33

I think I might start at the end of the day today, nothing much happened throughout, but it has been pretty eventful this evening.
Work all day, I left at 3pm though when the snow was getting just a bit too much for my liking. And it was a good thing I did because about half way home the roads were white with snow, not good, I decided that I would pick the kids up early from Kindergarden as there was no way I wanted to go back out into the storm again.
Back home the boys played on the Wii until it was time for "Blue Peter" a great kids TV show, where it is fun but also educational...well, whilst they were watching it, I went in the kitchen to get tea ready...bad idea today. As when I went back in Robert had a look of panic on his face, they were showing surgery in the 1900s and surgery now. Not all gory really. They had a dummy on which they were simulating key-hole surgery. But it all really really upset poor Robert, and he couldn't get to sleep, and I am half expecting him to wake up in the night too...

Well the storm has kept up all evening and one point even managing to blow the window open in the lounge which in turn woke Robert up and frightened him...

Well about 9.30pm the doorbell rang, frightened the life out of me, no one comes around at night time...I peeked through the door and recognised the person stood there, but didn't know where to put him. Once I opened the door, he could see I hadn't got a clue who he was and let me in on the secret, he was our neighbour. Well our poor neighbour had got his car stuck in a snowdrift across the road about 10m from his own driveway, could Florian help him. Well Florian of course is not here, so I bundled up and tried my best. It was not going to move with only me pushing though, I couldn't get a grip on the snow. when he went to see if his Dad was home I took a picture from the door wayOnce back with his Mum we got the snow shovel out and tried moving the snow that way, no luck..luckily the snow-shovelling neighbour was on his way out to shovel more snow (during the snowstorm) and with three of us pushing we finally got the car moving and on to its own driveway! Quite exciting!

And I took some other pictures of the snow too this evening. This is the snowdrift that is forming in front of the lounge patio doors

And this - believe it or not - is actually our terrace, its gone missing! Looks more like we are about to have a "Foam party" there!CU tomorrow, if the snow hasn't frozen my internet, its already stolen my TV and I was looking forward to a new series "Vampire Diaries" - maybe next week!

Day 32

When we got up this morning there hadn't been that much more snow, and the roads were clear, it was just when I got to the car park at work, that I saw a sign on the dashboard that I had never seen before. My wheels were spinning and it said on the dashboard "Slippy road" - good job it told me that, I would never have known otherwise! I have since been told, that my wheels weren't actually spinning, but that something in the car had stopped that from happening and that was what i was seeing! Mmh I'm just glad I got the car parked safely.

Getting home was no problem either, but it has been snowing ever since, goodness only knows what it will be like in the morning. Oh for the days, when if it snowed I could just stay away from the car...but it is off to work in the morning, hopefully the snow ploughs start work before I do!

This afternoon the boys - luckily for me - didn't want to go out in the snow, so they got to play on the Wii for a while, then after that we played "mouse trap".It was good fun! Even if I am forever rebuilding it, when the boys reach across to move their mouse!
