Day 334

I don't think it stopped snowing all night! It certainly didn't look as though we had cleared the paths yesterday when we got up!
I got the boys ready and sat them in front of the TV and very quickly cleared our pathway up to the door, so that we didn't sink in the snow on the way to the bus!
The bus was nearly 15 minutes late this morning, so everything was delayed, and as we are legally required to clear the path in front of the house, when I got home, I had to do that before heading for work. By then it was already almost 8.15am. So I had a change of plans, I sent an email to my boss telling her I couldn't make it in, and would be working on my translation from home.

Good idea, only my computer at work (which I log on to remotely and use from here) was not working, no network connection! It took them 2 hours to fix it for me. It had something to do with a new telephone system being installed...! At 10.15 I eventually got to start on my translation and finished it in time to go and pick Richard up at Kindergarden!

This afternoon was another swimming lesson. And Robert is now swimming without armbands! Cool! I'm so proud of him! Richard only has one armband now. We have two more lessons to go, and then we have to keep practising! No good doing this and then not going swimming!

After swimming the boys wrote their Xmas lists to Santa, and before going up to bathe and bed, they posted them! (Note to self: get them out of the letter box before going to bed!) Here they are doing that! This evening I have been working hard on another two calendars, my friend Katrin was so pleased with hers she wants 3 copies of it for Xmas presents and 2 slightly different ones as well! And again there is a great offer on, so I have to rush to get it all done by tomorrow! Wish me luck!

Day 333

Oops nearly went to bed without blogging! And I really don't want to keep blogging every other day!
So here goes a really late post!

No snow when we got up, and we got all the way to Kindergarden without, but as I left it started and it hasn't stopped yet...YUCK! BUT the boys love it, they couldn't wait to get out this afternoon to sweep the path! Bless them!Richard insisted to do Willi's drive too (our neighbour), so cute! I hope the novelty doesn't wear off too soon, they were a HUGE help!

And I think that was the most exciting thing about today! If I forgot something I'll blog it tomorrow, now I really should be getting to bed!

Day 331 and Day 332

We went to see Mum and Dad yesterday and didn't get back until quite late, so no blogging yesterday, so time to catch up now.

I still don't have much of a voice, but we weren't going to let that stop us go to seen Mum and Dad. Mum's best friend was staying there too, so it was nice to go and see her too. She had brought the boys sacks and sacks full of clothes from her grandson. No joking, our car was full to the brim when we came home!
Once we got there, Mum, her friend and I left Dad and Florian with the boys and went down town. First we went to Zeeman, where I got a lot of bits for birthday and Xmas presents for my friends kids. Then we went to the "artists Xmas Market" - only homemade things there. Mum got a really cute woodpecker for her garden, isn't he cute!
After lunch, Florian and I then left the kids there and went to a furniture shop to look at furniture for the hall and cupboards. Again we didn't come back with any furniture, but we did pick up some decorations for Xmas which were all half price!

When we got back from there, the boys were on Nanna's Nintendo DS and IPod. Too cute. At one point they then came and sat with me, look!We all went out to Mum and Dad's "local" for a meal, delicious, and we got home at about 10.15pm, a late night for the boys!

Sunday (Day 332)
Can you believe it, we did NOT go to the bakers this morning. We actually had breakfast at home for a change. We put our new decorations on and enjoyed our breakfast at homeAfter breakfast, Florian put all our outdoor Xmas decorations out (and did some other important thigns outside), and I got on with the ironing and hanging up my indoor decorations. Oh and Robert caught up on his schoolwork, which he missed last week.

Florian had to leave this afternoon, he's in Paris again for work on Monday and Tuesday, so we had to take him to the station at 3pm, sniff! And I have since heard that the train was really delayed and this caused him to miss his connection, which now means he won't be there until 1am! I hope all goes well for him!

Day 329 and Day 330

Well, its a good job I am typing this post, cause you would have a problem hearing me otherwise, my voice is slowly disappearing! But about the last two days

Day 329 (Thursday)
Robert and I had a very short night, he had me up for 2 hours at least in the night, the poor chappy had earache and the pain medicine, nose drops, nose blowing weren't helping any. He did eventually fall asleep, but only in our bed, and only up close to me, so I didn't have a very good night.
When we got up I called school again to let them know we weren't coming, changed my opticians appointment and got him an appointment back at the doctors.
He now has an ear infection on top of his coughing! Maybe sending him back to school on Wednesday was too soon...
We spent the afternoon at home, we all watched Stuart Little (well, I nodded my way through most of it) and as I didn't take a picture today, here is one from the film. The little lad reminded me of Richard with his glasses. (and I still can't believe Dr. House was in a family film!!!)
And then I let the boys play on the Wii. A friend came round in the late afternoon to see what I had done with her photos. She wanted me to make a photobook of her son's Holy Communion, and I had finished it. I was so proud (still am) when she was thrilled with it. And I even managed to get all the important relations in it! So she made no changes at all, and we ordered it then and there!

In the evening I made our Xmas card and ordered that too! I only made one this year, so everyone will be getting the same! You have been warned!

Day 330 (Friday)
Opticians today, when we got there (Robert is still off of school) I asked if they could check Robert's eyes seeing as we were there anyways, and no problem! Well, it was clear from the start of the test that his eyes were a lot better than Richards he wasn't guessing what he could see. And yep no glasses for Robert his eyes are fine!
I need new contact lenses and I have an appointment for that in January. It has taken me 8 years to find an optician up here, and I really like this one, he is really good with the kids and the girls in the practice are really friendly too. Phew I was really nervous about changing, but it worked. Need to say thank you again to Katrin, for suggesting him!

Florian caught an earlier train today and after picking him up we went to a furniture shop to look at hall furniture. We think we might turn our hall back into a hall rather than a kiddies room!
At the furniture shop we left the boys in the kiddy area playing in a bath of balls, and we got to look around in peace.
And this is what we boughthihi not what you was expecting. this is "Nellie the Elephant" and he/she (haven't decided yet) is going to help me teach English to the kids next week!

Day 328

Back to school and Kindergarden for the boys today, much to their disgust. I think they thought it should have been another day of TV and Wii! The only way I could get them to stop screaming "no" at me, was to tell a little porky pie, and say that I had to go to work. That stopped them screaming and started them getting dressed!

When I picked Robert up at the bus stop and Richard at Kindergarden later, tehy had both had good days, so I don't feel too bad about it now. But when they are running and jumping around the evening before it is definitely time to go back to school!

So whilst they were there, I went shopping for Nikolaus (Dec. 6th), I got a couple of games for my nieces, and I also got the "Bob the Builder" adventcalendar for the boys! Phew, I refuse to buy too early but leaving it to the end of November could prove a mistake, but I was lucky!

This afternoon Robert had a lot of homework to do, some of it was reading, but he is finally enjoying it. In fact this evening whilst I was reading "the faraway tree" to them, he was picking out different words in there. too cute!

Oh and this is what we saw out of the window this afternoonuhoh winter is here! Sniff!

This evening I worked on a project for one of the girls in the village. She wants a photobook of her sons Holy Communion Service and party, and I have actually finished it. I hope she has time tomorrow to find out, whether it is what she wanted, and make sure that I have the right people in there (as in the grandparents vs. the neighbours!)

Whilst doing that I was also watching The Apprentice tonight, and I was cringing, the thought of the British trying to sell crisps to the Germans....ooh that could have gone so wrong. But they did a lot better than I was expecting!

Day 327

This picture of the cat sort of sums up our day...well, we didn't sleep all day, but we didn't do that much either. The boys got to watch Madagascar and Thomas and the magical railway, and play on the Wii a little bit.
But most of the afternoon Robert spent catching up on his homework, just in case he goes back to school in the morning. He was pretty lively at bedtime, so he may well have enough energy to go back to school! We'll see in the morning!

I got quite a bit of the washing done, now that my headache has gone away, I can bend over to do it! Just need to shake the cough and nose blowing!!

Day 326

We are still all full of cold, so it was a trip to the doctors for all of us. The boys got some cough mixture and I got something for my sinuses. Mine seems to be working, cause I can walk without my brain crashing against my skull again! Getting there!

The boys spent the afternoon on the Wii, and without arguing or fighting, it was great. And I was working on some Xmas presents on the computer, all in all we took it easy.
Mum back at her house was clearing out a cupboard and found some great old pictures, I love this one of meprobably cause I actually remember that donkey. I was terrified of riding it, and telling it to go slow and not to run! Somethings never change!

Day 325

Despite 3 out of 4 of us being full of cold (the boys have bad coughs, and I have a headache) we still went to the bakers for breakfast, but we weren't there quite as long as usual.

Back home the boys and I took it easy indoors. The boys spent the afternoon on the Wii, and I found out that they even know how to change the cd in it...mmh not sure whether that is good or bad!
Florian took the trampoline down whilst we were in the warmth by the fire. But as they are forecasting snow for next week, it needed to be done!

After tea we took our pictures for our Xmas cards, I'm not going to show you them, but here is one I got of the boys before the actual "photo shoot"This evening we watched the last of Season 8 - 24, so I should be blogging more on time from now on. It was great again, in fact it really moved me, so much that Florian got up to come and cuddle me at one point! Such a softie I am!

Day 323 and Day 324

Day 323 (Friday)
Well another breakfast date with friends! This time the other parents from the Kindergarden parents committee, we were all invited around to Jochens to toast to his new son! They put on a lovely spread for us, so I skipped lunch again.

In the afternoon I let the boys watch two films, I was feeling exhausted (I have since come down with a cold) and TV was the easy way out.

Look what I found in our local newspaper todayThe article is great, and it seems everyone really did enjoy our Halloween Party.
Why didn't I blog, well when Florian got home from his business trip - we just had to start saving America with Jack Bauer again.

Day 324
Got up feeling really rotten today, I have had a headache for most of the day. But today the boys didn't get to watch TV because of it. This morning they played with all the playdoh that we had plus all the playdoh Nanna brought up for them. They had a GREAT time. In the afternoon, NOT such a great time! When they came downstairs, Robert told us that Richard had lost his glasses...well it took us 2 hours to find them. I really thought they had hidden them as they were nowhere to be found. But even emptying their money boxes to pay for a new pair of glasses, didn't make them go and get them out again. So we just had to go through everything in their bedroom. And guess where we found them,...in the bathroom! Oh well in hindsight it is funny, but at the time....at least their bedroom is now super tidy!

OK, back to Jack Bauer now

Day 322

I had a lovely morning, I went out for breakfast with some friends I haven't seen for a while. I used to go out in the evenings regularly with them, and then Florian started working down south, and that was it. But this time they went out in the morning. It was a cafe/restaurant in town, with a very delicious buffet breakfast, with lots of Antipasti specialties. Delicious!
In fact so much so, that I didn't need any lunch!

After Robert had finished his homework - which took a bit longer, cause he was confused, he was writing the words correctly BUT in mirror writing! Not good! And it took him 4 goes to get it right, oops! I'll have to watch that. He insisted it was cause his teacher told him to start writing on the right of the page, but I have my doubts about that!
Anyhow after that we all went into town (again for me) and picked up Richard's glasses. He had no problem putting them on properly and let the lady tighten them properly for him. He got really excited about them when he spotted "another shop" outside of where we were. And when we got outside he was even more excited when "right over there" was "another car"! I think it was most definitely high time he got some glasses.
Back home I was allowed to take some pictures of him, here is my favourite(Florian there are more pics on facebook!)
And after the photo session it was time for their football training, I stayed for a chat with the girls this time, but it is rather loud when the kids get going! Richard wore his glasses to get to training but took them off before any of his friends could see him in them (still a bit shy about that), but as I wasn't going to let him wear them for the training it was OK with me. He did wear them on the way home, and one of the lads started laughing at him, but his Mum and me soon put him right about that and made him stop and look properly at Richard, to which he then said "wow, they are really COOL!" and he meant it, so Richard was really pleased about that. Now to see how he gets on in Kindergarden tomorrow! He has already realised that he can see better with them so I think by the end of the weekend he won't be taking them on and off all the time!

Day 321

Library day today and I took a picture on my mobile of the library tower to post on my blog, and for some reason I can't get the bluetooth to work so the photo is still on there...mmh I'll have to get Florian to check this at the weekend.
Anyhow back to this morning, whilst at school, they had a fire drill, so at 9.15am it was all out to the playground. On the playground, Robert's class were climbing out of the classroom window (they are on the ground floor) needless to say they thought it was BRILLIANT! And their teacher let them go back into the classroom the same way! too cute!

This afternoon the Kindergarden organised a sticker swap. I can't remember whether I have mentioned the sticker books we have before or not. They are supermarket stickers you get free ones everytime you go over 10 Euros and you can buy packets too. The swapping was REALLY good for us, cause Robert was only one sticker missing and now he has a full book!
He thought that was great for about a minute, then he nearly burst into tears when he realised he would now be getting no more stickers from the shop! Never happy my kids!

This is the sticker book and the missing one was the third from the top on the left.Richard is now only 5 missing, but he is savouring it all, and only sticks in about 3 stickers a day, at this rate he might have finished sticking the stickers he has in by Xmas!

After the swap, Katrin and Sabine came round and we tried my new hot chocolate - Cadbury's,mmmh delicious!

This evening I hosted a speed scrap in a chat room, it was great fun and I hope I get asked to do it again!

Day 320

Another busy day today! Work in the morning, then in the afternoon we rolled two into one again.
First Robert had to finish his homework though, whilst checking to see what he had to do, I found thisit was his first "exam" and look ALL ticks! I'm so proud of him!

Once he had finished his homework, we went to visit Florian's niece in hospital (she has diabetis and they are getting her all sorted there), the boys had a great time visiting her, and seeing all the toys they played with when Robert was in hospital.
Unfortunately we had to leave after an hour, cause at 4pm it was time for swimming. Robert is now swimming with only one ring on one arm! And Richard has one ring on each arm. WE have three more lessons to go and I think they may well be swimming without by the end.

This evening I was feeling a bit cold, so I have had the fire on, whilst scrapping and watching the news about William and Kate getting engaged - I really am British, I can get excited about that sort of thing!

OK, off to bed now

Work this morning, so nothing to report there.
This afternoon wasn't very eventful either, Robert did his little bit of homework, then I let them have a round on the Wii.
We still had cake left over from yesterday so we had some of that (mmh, I may even have another piece this evening...!) then I got the Wii Board out, and joined in the fun. As nice as the weather was yesterday, as horrible and dark it was today, so going outside was not really an option, at least on the Wii Board the boys lost some energy

Day 318

What a lovely day!
The boys of course started it way too early! Why is it that during the week I have to wake them at 6.30am to go to school and on Sunday, I end up sending them back to bed at 6.15am!!! Oh well, by 8am I was up too, and had plenty of time to print a couple of cards and to put the topping on the carrot cake!
When Florian got up it was "tidy the boys room" time, and that was quite a chore, which we stopped short when it was time to go to the bakers to meet up with Mum and Dad, and Lee and family!
We had a great brunch there, the kids played really nicely, it was just a big shame, that Mia was feeling really poorly. She seems to have taken on Robert's old role and keeps getting tonsilitis. Poor thing!

We came back home in time for the lads to watch the Formula One race, Mum, Ramona and I were in the kitchen checking out all of my goodies that Mum brought up for me! Then whilst the safety car was out, we all went to see our ghost walk. Everyone was impressed, and the kids enjoyed their probably last run through it, cause now I can organise the "take it down" crew!

Back indoors the kids were playing really nicely upstairs and at one point came down to show us something funny - here they are doing just that!Oh and I have another picture, this is real not a fake, it was really warm today, so weird for November, but I am not really complaining!Time for some more Jack Bauer in 24 now...

Day 316 and Day 317

Friday, Day 316
I signed myself up to help clean up after the St. Martins Party forgetting that Richard and I had an appointment with the eye doctor at 9.45am. But no problem, we just started cleaning at 8am and I left at 9am whilst someone else who couldn't start at 8am took over from me.

I am always very wary of a new eye doctor and this time was no exception, but I was so sure that Richard needed glasses, that I wanted a doctor a bit closer to home for the many appointments that await me.
Well, I wasn't wrong, he does need glasses. When she was checking them he had to tell her what he could see (little pictures) of the 6 she pointed to he only got one right, but she was good, she never said anything so Richard still believes he saw a moon (it was a flower) a car (it was a scooter) and a star (a teddy bear). They gave him drops too to look at his retina, and he was really brave about it - all day as it took until this morning for his pupils to get back to normal.

I must have done something right though cause when we picked Florian up at the station he was so excited to be going to choose a cool pair of glasses. And we came out of the shop with him asking "how many sleeps til I get them"! I hope this excitment stays with him!
Anyhow this is what he choseI think he still looks cute!
Oh and the reason for not blogging - 24 was delivered this week and we started watching - hooked again!

Saturday
The boys had a small football tournament today - an indoor one - Florian took them whilst I stayed at home tidying up for our visitors tomorrow.
They had a great time, they came second and they all got a small football and a trophy, so they were very happy when they got home. Here is a shot from the game
This afternoon I went shopping whilst my boys played on the Wii, the weather was that horrible that playing in the fresh air was not an option, but Robert and Richard weren't disappointed!!

And this evening I baked a carrot cake for tomorrow, I'll let you know whether it was a success tomorrow

Day 314 and Day 315

I was really really busy yesterday and opted to miss a day blogging to keep the creative juices flowing! I worked really really hard last night and actually made 21 calendar pages - for 3 different calendars!! Xmas is just around the corner and I need to get them finished this weekend to make the most of a free offer (I only pay shipping!) but more about the rest of the day.

In the morning it was all about St. Martin and Kindergarden. The Kindergarden teachers asked all the Mum's when they came in the morning about helping and finally managed to organise 3 more to help, so the party was not cancelled! Phew, but honestly, it should never have been that difficult to organise...
Anyhow after the relief of that, we had to sort out what we sitll needed to get, and I got more sausages on my trip to Aldi.

In the afternoon we were invited to Sabine's to celebrate Kiara's birthday, it was a good afternoon. At one point we caught Xenia trying to give Robert a kiss...And like I said I spent the evening being VERY busy!

Day 315 (Thursday)
Another busy day, this morning I joined the Kindergarden children at the church for their rehearsal of the St. Martin songs. I took the camera and video camera and got some good shots and film of them all. It was so cute and they did really really well!

Then after lunch at 2pm it was back to Kindergarden to set everything up for the St. Martin party. We all decided that we would do it indoors just in case it rained...
What a good job we did decide that, cause at 5.30pm on the dot it started to pour down..which was no problem in church (here they all are during rehearsal, cause the lighting was better then)but when we came out it was raining so much, that we shortened the walk with the lanterns and hurried to the indoors and out of the rain.
It was a good evening and a lot turned out. I will try not to go off on a rant about the Mum's who couldn't help, but where there the whole time with partners and or family....mmh....

And this evening guess what I have been doing, yep more calendar pages, but I am nearly done now. But after posting this I am off to bed. We overslept this morning and only had 30 minutes to get ready for the day, we made it but maybe I should not sleep through the alarm tomorrow morning!

Day 313

I was 20 minutes late to work this morning, when we got to Kindergarden, one of the Kindergarden teachers is ill and other than the parent committee no one has signed up to help with the St. Martin procession and "party" Thursday night. With so little helpers there is no way we can make this work and happen, so we wrote out a sign that we desparately need parents to help and that if no one signs up the "party" after the procession will be cancelled. We'll see tomorrow morning if anyone felt compelled to sign up!

That was the exciting part of my morning the rest was just translations - and don't ask about them, sometimes I wonder who comes up with the German wording....!!

This afternoon I let the boys play with the Playdoh, only today I let them have ALL of the colours we have that was 10 little tubs and 3 big tubs! They thought they were in playdoh heaven!!I had a very relaxed evening scrapping and watching Vampire Diaries!

Day 312

Work this morning so nothing to report there, because I had to work I thought I was going to miss out on the kids winter boot offer from Aldi, but I have the best friends! Katrin got them for meRichard's are the furry blue ones and Robert's are the lace up ones! Katrin wasn't able to choose the style she just grabbed the right style, she said it was like a fight there this morning!

This afternoon Robert and I did his homework, to me he seems to be struggling with his reading, he can sort of spell it out letter by letter, but he can't (or won't) put them together to make a word, he just tries guessing. So we need to practise, but when I got his school book out to do just that he refused point blank. If he keeps this up, I will have a word with his teacher, and get him to tell Robert it is homework that he reads 5 or so words a day! All it needs to do is click and he will be fine, but until then "practise makes perfect"!
I did ask him why he didn't want to read, and he did say "cause then you won't read to me anymore". Bless him. I explained that I LOVED reading to them and would do so for as long as they want me too. The longer the better if you ask me, knowing Robert that really is the problem, so I will have to work on that too!

After homework it was time for our last official swimming lesson, we still have 4 to go, but they are catch up ones! Robert now only has one ring on each arm and Richard has 2 on one arm and one on the other, and guess what they aren't sinking. The girls that never missed a lesson are swimming with no rings! Amazing how they have all come on!

OK I have a challenge to prepare for tomorrow, so off I go scrapping

Day 310 and Day 311

Uff, I am exhausted we had a fun but exhausting weekend.
Florian's other sister (Gunnu) came down to visit her sister (Claudi) this weekend (with her family) so yesterday we started the day with breakfast at Claudi's. It was quite a late breakfast so instead of lunch we all went for a walk in the woods behind their house. It was a bit wet, but it was still fun.
After that I had to leave with Richard, cause Richard was invited to a birthday party. He didn't really want to go, but I was able to tell him that when he got home, everyone would be there so he could show them the "ghost walk".
Whilst he was at the party I tackled the ironing - 14 shirts, plus all the rest! And at 6pm everyone arrived for Pizza at our place!
We were just finishing when Richard got home, I still haven't heard how the party was, cause when he got in, he ran straight upstairs to see his cousins!
It was eventually 11pm when the boys got to bed - we had all been watching XFactor...
Somehow we never took many pictures yesterday but I do have one with my freshly dyed hair! Here you go!

Sunday
Guess where we went for breakfast, yep the bakers and I have never ever seen it so busy, it would be busy when we were going to be 19 (!) people for breakfast! Florian's brother came up from down south with his family to join in the family fun!
We got some great group shots (and as I am allowed to post them on facebook, here they are for here too!)
After the bakers we went home and got Florians suitcase, and then it was back to join everyone for a meal. Delicious that was, but it was a lot and I haven't had any tea! We had Breakfast for tea (Weetabix and Coco Pops!)
OK, got to go Claudi is on her way round to watch the Xfactor results show with me

Day 309

This morning it was all about me! yep, I went to the hairdressers and got rid of the grey again, I suppose I should have had a photo taken of me so you could see, but I forgot until now, maybe tomorrow!
I hadn't seen my hairdresser for a couple of weeks (her son is in Robert's class and football team) so we had a lot of gossip to catch up on!

At lunchtime posty came and brought the boys a letter from Holland, Lisa and Tommie had written to them, maybe now my boys will get around to finishing their post to Lisa and Tommie! We spoke to them all on Skype this afternoon, well the kids blew kisses and made silly faces at oneanother, and I tried to keep my computer from toppling over!
We also spoke to Nanna on skype, but Robert would not show them thisyep finally his tooth has fallen out! It happened at 4am this morning, cause he had to wake me up to tell me about it! He wanted to know if the toothfairy would be coming, I told him that it was nearly morning and she only comes in the nighttime (I did not want to go and find him some pennies at 4am! The toothfairy was off duty!)

The boys were in a weird mood for most of the afternoon, I was going to let them play on the Wii whilst I did the ironing, but they started arguing over it, before it was even turned on properly. So they never did get to play it, instead I had them helping me tidy up. Much to Robert's disgust.

And this evening after picking up Florian at the station we drove to his sister to lend them our double airbed, and ended up staying for tea and not getting home til 9pm! Oops, we'll see how that goes down with the boys tomorrow.

Day 308

I have my first two little scholars for my English lessons, so even if no one else signs up, it will still happen! My books should get here tomorrow and I can start preparing and practising on the boys. And Dinphy if there is anything good in there, I'll be sure to pass it on to you! I may even use Tommy's party trick in the lesson - the "up high, down low, too slow" - the boys will love that one!

Now I just have to wait and see if anyone else is interested!

When Robert got home from school, we went straight out and picked up my niece from her school, she needed babysitting today. Classic comment from her though, when I picked her up! I told her that the boys were excited she was coming for dinner, her answer "I'm not!" - "oh, whys that?" "They are so annoying!" - She left me speechless! Kids!
I must say though, I didn't get the impression when she was here that she was upset about it. Lunch didn't go down too well with her either, too many vegetables! Even seeing my boys eating it all up and asking for more didn't help her. And she thought my minced meat was worms! Oh well, better luck next time (for her that is!)

After she had been picked up, it was time for the boys first indoor football training. I just dropped them off there, and even those 5 minutes I was there were too much for my ears, the noise there just seems overpowering.
I never got much time at home though, I spent too much time chatting outside and on the way home! Oh well, I can do the ironing tomorrow before we pick Florian up!

This evening I watched High School Musical again, I suppose I could call that a guilty pleasure! I just love sing-a-long films! Maybe Mamma Mia for the ironing tomorrow!

I forgot to take a picture today, so Sunny stood in for me, he has finally forgiven me for giving the kitten a home for two nights!CU tomorrow

Day 307

Today it was work I love! I have always loved books and seeing the kids every other Wednesday looking so excited about getting a new book out at the library is just amazing.
I got there first this morning, so I took a sneaky picture of the library. Next time I have to remember to take a picture from outside, as the library is actually in the school tower!

This afternoon we read the book Robert chose at the library, and this evening we read one that I had borrowed! This time Robert got a story book out, so it was much much easier to read to them. They really enjoyed it, so who knows I may be reading it again in the next two weeks.

Today Kindergarden gave me the go-ahead to teach the kids at Kindergarden English. So I have been surfing the internet finding teaching materials and ideas for games and such. Mum and Dad are bringing me back a book from England, that all little German kids read in German, but which really is an English book. And I will definitely be using that! Now just to see how many kids sign up for it!
CU tomorrow
PS: Robert still has his wobbly tooth, but it is wobbling more, maybe tomorrow a gappy picture!

Day 306

You know I said I was getting attached to Spooky, Robert was even more attached, which made it all the more painful for him, when Spooky - whose real name is Kitty - went home at lunchtime.
At the busstop this morning I heard the 3rd year girls discussing whether a pussycat had drowned in the drains, and asked them about it. One of the girls had lost her cat, I told her that we were looking after one, and at 1pm this afternoon they came around to see if it was theirs. It was and Spooky went home. I did get one last picture before she left
She was conquering a slipper (sorry about the scary - or should I say Spooky eyes)It hurt us all to have to give her back, but she is going home to where she has been loved longer. And she had been hand reared with a bottle, so I know that she will be well looked after. And I also know that by now she will be wearing a collar with address and phone number on it, as the Mum bought it on her way home from work.
Robert was devastated and didn't even eat any lunch over it. And try as I might to explain that if Sunny went missing and someone found and fell in love with him, we would want them to give him back, it wasn't going in. It was only when the Mum popped round with some thank you chocolates for us, and the promise that we could visit and they could have a ride on the horses there, then he started feeling better.
And I felt better knowing how much they all cared.

And then to top off Robert's bad day, his front tooth has started falling outOnly I couldn't get it right out for him, so he made me promise to leave a note for the tooth fairy that she should come by and help the tooth get out or magic it away! We'll see what happens over night!
CU tomorrow, probably with a gappy grin!

Day 305

No work today, cause Robert's school teachers had a workshop to go to. Florian also had the day off as it is a bank holiday in the South of Germany. I thought about keeping Richard at home too, but there was a note at Kindergarden that the music school was inviting the parents to join them, so at 9am I went to join in. Only she had worded the poster wrong and not all parents were invited, only those of the kids who started last year. Good job I hadn't taken time off of work only for that! As it was I just laughed it off and went home again. Unfortunately though Robert and Florian were already out, and I couldn't join them. BUT I got to play with the kitten!

I hang out posters in the village, with a photo and my phone number, but so far no one has called to claim her/him - and after having her with us for 24 hours now, part of me is hoping no one does claim her. Sunny has yet to make friends, but so far they haven't fought, just growled and hissed at oneanother! We'll see how it goes.
Here a lot of pictures of SPOOKY (named for the fact that she came on Halloween!)CU tomorrow
