So no school again for Robert who today complained of earache - clever one really, cause I can't check that one! But as I didn't have to go to work today, no problem in him staying home. BUT I did make him come shopping with me. We needed to get some food in! AND Aldi had a great offer on spring coats, jeans and jumpers (all for kids) and I wanted to make sure that I got some of each, we were lucky we got there early I think by the time we left the shop some sizes were no longer available.
Lunch was "use up the leftovers" and we all had something different, but something we had had this week! Too funny really, but what is that saying "waste not, want not"!
After lunch the boys had to come to sport with me as I didn't want to miss out, and to make sure they behaved themselves I bribed them. If they were as good as gold they would be able to watch two Lego ninjago films on my computer, didn't hear a peep from them!
Then we had to go shopping again, as work phoned and tomorrow I have to go in, so I cant go shopping tomorrow for knick knacks for Richards birthday on Saturday, so off we went to woolworth, and got all sorts of bits. Should be a good party!

Day 30
My friend looked after Robert for me this morning, whilst I took Richard to the doctors for a lactose test. It was another one of those "blow in this tube" tests which take all morning. We went prepared today and had some Lego for Richard to build whilst we were there.
He was really good, especially as it really is a long morning when you are hungry and bored! The end result was sort of positive. We are no closer to finding out what his problem is, BUT we do now know that it is not milk. So we can now go back to "real" milk and milk products!
After the doctor we picked Robert up and went back home. I made us another new meal "Wurstgulasch" (sausage goulash), I got the recipe from Kindergarden and it was not only really easy but also very delicious. The boys loved it!
I cancelled art school and then started sorting out the homework. Someone bought Richard's homework round, but again no one bought Robert's. I phoned around to try an find out, where it was and Robert's friend told me the "teacher was looking after it" - mmh, very strange. So I gave the teacher a call. And apparently two of Robert's friends had argued over who should take it - they were both adamant that it wasn't going to be them. So in the end the teacher kept the homework and Robert didn't get any. I was quite upset about that, and have since spoken to the parents of the boys and I think next time Robert is ill he will get his homework.

This evening I watched the new Hairy Bikers show, and now I am itching to try making ravioli....watch this space!

Day 29
Today was slightly different that planned, Robert has had a cold since Sunday afternoon, but when he woke up this morning he had a fever too, so no school for Robert. He felt pretty rotten all day, but it didn't get worse, so that is a start.
Whilst he was playing on the Wii, or doing Lego. I made the christening pamphlet for a friend, and then I worked on correcting someones physics thesis. It is 135 pages long and I am now at page 12, but don't ask me if I understood anything. I don't have the foggiest idea what I have been reading. I am just trying to find any obvious language mistakes, and with all the gibberish - sorry physics- I am reading they really do have to be obvious!
At lunch time posty stopped by with a HUGE parcel for Richard. I recognised the firm it came from, but I didn't remember ordering anything, so I was quite puzzled. When Richard opened it though, it was clear who it was from - Thank you Dinphy and family! It was a lovely surprise. He loves all the bits in there and he was quite at a loss as to whether to start crafting or finish the lego! Here he is with his present
And here he is with the Lego. They were upstairs most of the afternoon working on building the police station! I got another cuddle and thank you for getting it, Mummy. So I think we did alright!

Day 28
Happy Birthday Richard - 7 today! And so excited that you forgot to put your glasses on! But you knew what your presents were without them!
Daddy left for work later than usual, so that he could be there when you got up. We all thought that was brilliant. And after breakfast you played on your new Wii game with Robert. You even got to play a bit longer, cause Daddy drove you and Robert to school! And I got busy with the housework.
I cooked meatballs before the boys came home from school, but they were for the evening. We were going to the cinema, and because Robert had 6 lessons today we were pushing it a bit fine. But we made it with 3 minutes to spare! But it didn't matter, we were the only three people in the whole cinema. Oops! We went to see Wreck It Ralph (Ralf reicht's)
It was the latest Disney film and it was really good. We all enjoyed it. After the boys wanted to get home quickly so that they could look and build Richard's new Lego sets! But first they did some homework, not all of it - I wrote a note for Robert to excuse him. Then we had the meatballs with spaghetti, it tasted as good as it smelt at lunchtime!

Day 27
We are still waiting for the weather chaos to hit today, it did start to snow sometime this afternoon, but nothing like they had been forecasting for most of the week. Still never mind, I don't really want to have to sweep snow tomorrow morning! And I do want the boys to go to school, so I am OK with no weather chaos.
Florian took the boys swimming this morning and I got the washing done and a photoframe filled for Florian's flat down south. This was actually more difficult than planned. We had got the frame at IKEA, only it wasn't being sold as a frame, but as a picture. And when I came to change the pictures, they had made it as difficult as possible. The backing was stapled down with 18!!! staples. But I got them all out and now Florian has a nice picture for his flat, with our pictures of a beach! (and one of the boys too!)
This afternoon Florian went to sport, whilst he was out the boys played on the Wii, then when he got back he made us all a hot chocolate. The boys enjoyed theirs whilst watching a Lego Ninjago film on my computer. Notice that the cat was not being turfed off of his spot!
We then sat down to practice Robert's reading - he had to practice reading a poem - we were both pleasantly surprised when he read it. It was brilliant and we only made him read it once as it was so good. Then they got to watch a film with Daddy, whilst I got tea for us all. Day 25 and Day 26
Day 25 - Friday
I took both boys to school this morning along with their guitars and from there (after a chat with Richard's teacher) I headed to work. I had quite a bit to do and got on with it quickly to make sure I got both translations done before it was time to leave. Unfortunately I got it done well before time to leave, and then asked for more work - there was none, so I had to leave, grrrrrrr! Oh well I put the time to good use, and made some noodle salad for lunch (the boys asked for it for this week) and then with still time to spare before I had to pick the boys up, I made some fresh bread!
My friend has lent me a tupperware baking dish, and I used the recipe I have properly and baked the bread in this dish. Wow it was easy, all I had to do was mix the ingredients, then the dough goes in the dish with the lid on, then into the cold oven for 70 minutes. There was no finding a warm place for the yeast to do its job, that all happens in the oven in this dish. And the bread is so delicious! Hopefully I can borrow the dish for a while, cause a new one is MUCH too expensive! Once the bread was in the oven it was time to go and get the boys from school.
Back home we had our lunch, then the boys did their homework and then it was time to go to a birthday party. Katrin had made cakes using Richard's flour, so he was able to have cake and he made sure he got his fair share (and more!) That was so lovely of her!
We came home at 6pm and had tea and surprise surprise at 6.45pm Florian came home! I wasn't expecting him for another couple of hours so that was a nice surprise.

Day 26 - Saturday
We all went to the shops together this morning, well, Florian took the boys to the DIY store and got us all some "ear muffs" so we can help when he saws the wood, and whilst they were in there, I went to Aldi and got all we need for the weekend and the start of the new week (just in case the ice rain they are forecasting spoils any plans for Monday!) After that, we let the kids into the toy shop and gave them some money to treat themselves for doing so well at school. Robert spent his Xmas money from my uncle, along with the money from us on a Lego Ninjago vehicle, and Richard got a Lego Chima vehicle. It was cute listening to them playing with them this afternoon. (I was in the kitchen cooking)
After lunch Florian and Robert went off to a football tournament. They were 3rd out of 5 - well done boys!
Richard and I stayed home, I did the ironing and "made" Richard watch Mamma Mia with me. Whilst we were watching Lucky went and sat on Richard's lap - so cute, but no camera around! When Florian and Robert got back we all went out and helped saw up the wood as we were really really running low. We all worked really well together and got a lot done in an hour. After we had finished we set the camera up for a self timer picture! Don't we look cute with our Mickey Mouse ears! Hihi!
The boys went in then, but Florian and I cleared a BIG space in the barn to put Florian's car in there - again because of the forecast ice rain! It is now nice and safe and dry!

Day 24
And again a silent thank you to the weather god for "no more snow" today when I got up. There is no less though either, it is just too cold to melt any of it, you can still see a skid mark that Robert's friend made on the path on Monday!
The boys went off to school and I went off to work. My colleague now had my really difficult translation (it was a contract of some sort) and I got something a lot easier to do, so that was good news. I struggle with legal-ese!
Richard came home for lunch and didn't stay at school all day, but he had to stay an extra lesson, so that I can work my full hours again. We'll probably keep it this way now until we have his tummy sorted out. After our lunch it was time for sport - Richard did his homework there.
I told the guys at sport that I needed to improve my "snow shovelling muscles", so we worked on the muscles in my lower back - and ouch I hurt already, but if it improves them, then all the better, when it does snow again (apparently on Sunday).
After sport a friend came round and picked Richard and me up to go to another Vernissage, again at the clinic. Robert went to football. Here some of the pictures I took there (and our friend took one of me and Richard)

Day 23
Phew, what a day! Its another one of those where I roll 3 into one!
It started pretty early with a phone call from a friend, did I really mean it, that the girls could come here straight from school for lunch? Of course I did, her youngest daughter (only 4 months) is in hospital with a kidney infection. So of course I'll help out. And they like Spaghetti Bolognese, so no problems there either. Then it was off to school for the boys and me! Library today. I was going to get a picture of the new library, but totally forgot once I got there and the kids started coming.
When it was Robert's class' turn the teacher came too (she normally sends the kids on their own) she asked if I could come and see her in the break - insert my heart dropping here - for the annual teacher-parent talk about the kids - heart returned to its rightful place!
So in the break I went up to see her. The kids were all just coming out of the class when I got there, and Robert had a great big grin on his face, when he saw me! They had just got their German test back, and Robert had a TWO!! Yep a TWO!!! I worried about him and he proves me so wrong and gets a TWO (which is the second highest grade!) With that great news, in I go to see the teacher, and she too was full of praise for him and how he has developed since starting the 3rd class. I am sure I grew a few centimetres then and there! Well done Robert! I am so proud of him. And maybe if the diet is not helping Richard, maybe it is helping Robert with his concentration and such, whatever it was that has helped him, I hope it stays!
Then it was back to the library to finish off there.
After the library I rushed to Aldi, cause if we were going to have Spaghetti Bolognese, I needed minced meat! Then I had to get home to be there in time for all my kids!
The girls loved being here and really enjoyed their lunch - phew! My friend picked them up at around 2pm. And then about 30mins later the boys "old" kindergarden teacher popped around. She needed help making a phone call in English and thought of us. It was good to see her again, she left our Kindergarden the same time as Richard did, so we had a lot of catching up to do. Shortly before 4 she left and we had to leave for art school. The snow in town is just as bad as here, and finding a parking spot was quite difficult, in the end we were parked in snow about 15cm deep - oops!
Whilst the boys were there, I went shopping for the rest of the week. My second time at Aldi in a day! Then I went to the toy shop to see if they had any bargains in Lego for me. But I have ordered Richard's b-day present from Amazon as I have a voucher from there, that I earned doing questionnaires online.
And after all that, I didn't take a single picture! It should be one of Robert, cause I am so proud of him, so I am going to leave a gap here and get a great picture of him in the morning! Check back tomorrow!

Day 22
I was so relieved when I peaked out the curtains this morning and there was no new snow, I don't think my back or wrist would have been too happy. But I was lucky there was no new snow today, I think we got plenty yesterday! The boys got off to school OK, and I went to Kindergarden for the first English lesson of the year. Today we did farm animals and tried singing "Old MacDonald", I sang and the kids joined in on the E I E I O bit!
Richard was home from school first and he was all excited because he got a certificate and a homework voucher for finishing his holiday work - well done Richard! Robert got home an hour later and he was all excited because he got two top marks for his work on the book they read before Christmas. One top mark was for art class, where they decorated a box in which they stored all the things they collected for each chapter of the book in German. Here are the book and the letter with his marks - well done Robert!
About an hour before tea time today I realised that we needed more bread, there was just enough for the boys, I had to wait until the new loaf I made had finished baking. But I certainly wasn't complaining I don't think I have ever eaten such fresh bread. It was delicious and the butter melted right in! Yummy!

Day 21
Got up at 6am and went straight downstairs first to check online if school had been cancelled, there was no news then, but one look out of the window told me really that the chances of the buses coming were slim. But I still got the boys up and ready for school, and when it was time, I went with them to the busstop. We waited there until nearly 8am (the bus normally leaves at 7.26am), and then one of the other Mums came to the bus stop to inform us all, that everyone could go home. She had managed to get through to school and they had cancelled school for those coming by bus. The kids were well pleased. I helped out another Mum and had three boys for the day. I have to admit really they were as good as gold.
When we got back home we joined Florian in the quest to clear the snow. He was still home as there was no way he could leave early he had to wait til the roads had been cleared. So I had a big helper too with the snow. Together (3 boys, Florain and me) we managed to clear the path by 9am. That sort of gives you a picture of how deep the snow was. I never did take a picture - too busy trying to move the stuff!
Sometime before lunch Florian left to go south, and he arrived safe and sound about 1.30pm. The worst of the snow was from here to the motorway, especially through the woods. I think staying home all day was best for us.
After lunch the three boys took the sledges and went sledging without me. They took the walkie talkie and I went out to sweep another 5cm of snow away again! Neverending story!
By the time I came back in my back and wrist were really sore. Not used to that sort of work I suppose. My wrist is still sore, but I am hoping that it will be back to normal in the morning, its a bit annoying when it hurts to pick anything up. And that includes the camera, but I did just go to the back door and get a picture of the terrace so that you can see how deep the snow is!

I never did take a picture - too busy trying to move the stuff!
Sometime before lunch Florian left to go south, and he arrived safe and sound about 1.30pm. The worst of the snow was from here to the motorway, especially through the woods. I think staying home all day was best for us.
After lunch the three boys took the sledges and went sledging without me. They took the walkie talkie and I went out to sweep another 5cm of snow away again! Neverending story!
By the time I came back in my back and wrist were really sore. Not used to that sort of work I suppose. My wrist is still sore, but I am hoping that it will be back to normal in the morning, its a bit annoying when it hurts to pick anything up. And that includes the camera, but I did just go to the back door and get a picture of the terrace so that you can see how deep the snow is!

Day 20
Today instead of going to the bakers for breakfast we met with Florian's sister and family there for lunch, that gave Florian a lay in - I got up at 8am to settle a punch up that was going on downstairs! It more or less has snowed all day today, but we didn't let it spoil out plans, but right now it looks like the weather will be changing tomorrow's plans. So far we have had about 20cm of snow and it doesn't look like it is stopping anytime soon. In fact right now (22.15) we have ice rain! I keep checking the local news page to see if school is cancelled tomorrow, but so far no news. But back to today...
In the afternoon Florian and I had a sports session together, it was good fun, and the boys were very well behaved whilst we were wired up! When we got out the ice rain that Mum had had earlier in the afternoon had arrived here, but Florian got us home safe and sound. Back home we let the boys watch Harry Potter 2. We had a break in it for tea and in that break we talked all about it in the hope that they won't have nightmares about giant spiders and snakes or such. We'll see how well that went... And here a picture of just how they watched the film!
And this is how Lucky has spent most of the afternoon and evening - right in front of the fireplace!
And if he isn't there he is busy having a cuddle on my lap! I think we have the world's most lazy cat, but I love him!

Day 18 and Day 19
Day 18 - Friday
Took the boys guitars to school and then headed off to work. Again without my parking thingy, so I only stayed for 6 Euros worth of time.
After work, I stopped at shops and got some special puff pastry to make Richard some cakes sometime soon, and Lidl had English week, so I stopped there too and got baked beans, fudge and cheddar - yummy!
When I got home I had had a call from the headmistress at school, and strangely enough my heart didn't drop. As I am on the parents committee my first thought was that it was all about the 40 year school fete in the summer. But when I called back, another teacher told me it was to do with the "bus situation" in the village. I made an appointment to meet with the headmistress before picking the boys up from school, and then called one of the other Mum's who I know is at the busstop every morning. Apparently there is a lot of misbehaving going on, kids running across the main road as some sort of dare, pushing and shoving and fighting. So with that information I went to see the headmistress. She assured me when I got there, that it wasn't about my kids but she wanted to hear if there really were Mums at the busstop in the mornings, and if I had heard anything. We discussed it all for a while, and I will now be talking to the other parents to see if we can get some sort of "bus lady" system going. We would have the power to get the kids extra work or detention if they misbehave. The headmistress is going to send out a letter to all parents letting them know that if it continues kids can and will be stopped from travelling on the bus, and will have to be taken to school by the parents, maybe with both of these measures in place it will become safer at the busstop.
In the afternoon I took Richard to play with his friends. I think they built a house in the snow. And here at home it was just Robert and me - his friend didn't have any time to play today. I was busy tidying up so I was no fun for Robert either, and got a bit annoyed with him, when he couldn't think of anything to do. In the end he decided to go outside and build an iglu. He took a tupperware box and made bricks with it. This is what he had made. I took the picture this morning as he didn't come in until it was dark!
Florian got home in time for tea, which was delicious homemade bread that I had baked after lunch. Will definitely be doing this recipe again!
And after tea, I went to a tupperware party, which made a nice change and was fun. I got back quite late, and so there was no time to blog!
Day 19 - Saturday
No lay in today as the boys had football tournaments. Robert had to be at his by 8.45am, Florian took both boys and I got myself ready a bit more leisurely and then went and got the shopping first before joining them at the sports hall.
I got there in time for Robert's third game, the other two they drew as soon as I got there they lost 5:0, the other Mums and Dads have asked me if I could stay home next weekend when they have their next tournament - I have no problem with that!! In the end they came 4th out of 6 - not bad. Then it was time for Richard's games. His team came 2nd out of 4 - very good too! Here a few pictures of the day.
When we got home, the boys went out to carry on with the iglu and when they had had enough of that, they went sledging. And today we let them go on their own. Day 17
It was back to work this morning, nothing to report from there, although I did have to pay more to work today. My parking ticket thingy is in Florian's car and that is down south, so I had to get a real ticket and pay today - Cost me €6,-- so I think I will work the same amount of time tomorrow, so that I don't end up paying even more!
I got home about 2 minutes before Richard so all was good there. As it snowed all day long, I cut my programme for the afternoon, we didn't really need to go to Aldi, that can wait til the weekend. But we did need to go out again. First we walked around to give the "princess" the photos. Richard took the small snow shovel with him and cleared a pathway for us all the way there! Too cute!
then after that, we picked up a friends son from Kindergarden to take with us to a vernissage. The boys took part in a competition for the hospital. They wanted a stork drawn, to use as signs to the maternity ward. They had about 20 entries and these are all now on display on the maternity ward. Robert chose to go to football training rather than the vernissage, so he wasn't with us. But I took pictures of his pics too. But I got one of Richard with the head doctor and his picture. And also a group one of all the artists and the organising committee.
Robert got home just after 7pm and then still had to have his tea, so it was a late night for the boys, but both had enjoyed their afternoons.

Day 16
Richard went back to school this morning, not that he really wanted to, but he has no fever and no spots on his sore throat, so back to school it was. And when he got home I think he had enjoyed it. Although I stopped by the school this morning and saw him in the break and he was in tears then, because his friends kept screaming at him, maybe he is a bit emotional still.
I stopped by school, to cancel Richard's lunch and afternoon school for him for tomorrow. Trying to stick to his diet is difficult enough for me, and I can't force that on the school canteen, so I think until we know what to keep him away from, I'll have to keep him away from school dinners. I was at school for quite a while chatting first to the secretary about Richard's poorly tummy and then to the other library Mum's about the same subject, I think I needed to get it out of my system.
I made something new for lunch, it was called a "minced meat potatoe stew" and it was delicious. I had two helpings, and the boys ate quite a bit too. And after cooking and eating lunch, I made my second loaf of bread. This time I halved the amount of salt in it, and it was much better. As you have seen what my bread looks like, this time I took a picture of the making process. I don't think I would be making bread if I had to do the kneading myself. My machine is a godsend!
Later in the afternoon it was time for art school. The boys were quite excited to be going. Whilst they were there I went to the shopping mall, and after wandering Media Markt looking for a new mouse and finding out that the one I really wanted was only there together with keyboard, I left in a huff. One of the clothes shops in the mall had a really nice jumper in the window, and I decided to try that on and a pair of jeans that was on the same stand. And I now have a new jumper and jeans!

Day 15
Again it was just Richard and me after Robert had left for work. I think he talked all day - at least that it what it felt like, but its OK, cause it meant his throat wasn't too bad today.
After watching TV til about 9.30am he came to me and said "Mummy, you can turn the TV off now, I am going to do "basteln" (crafting)!" - I never thought either of my sons would come and tell me to turn the TV off! Wow! But we started with yesterdays homework, before he got to do his crafting.
He wanted to make a belt like "Tree Fu Tom" which is a kids programme on CBeebies. This is Tree Fu Tom
And this is Richard and his nearly finished belt
He made it all on his own and all he needs to do now is paint the cereal boxes on the sides - I think that is what we will be doing tomorrow when he gets back from school - yep, all being well, he'll be back at school in the morning.
In the afternoon I had to help Robert with his homework, he is struggling with answering questions about texts, and I am not sure I am the right person to help him, but as I am the only one here to help him, we will manage. I just have to be patient, right! But it is so hard when all he does is fidget and you can watch his mind drifting off to other places...

Day 14
Florian was up bright and early in order to leave before the traffic, unfortunately the snow didn't wait til he had got there. But he got to work safe and sound.
I got the boys up at 6.20 am, shame really, they were doing so well, not waking up until 8am. but it was back to school for Robert. And Richard and I went to the doctor to have his throat checked. We were in and out of the doctors within 20 minutes, which was really good. He has a throat infection, which hopefully won't turn into tonsilitis. He has some sucking tablets, that I have to remember to give him every hour. We didn't do too bad today, so maybe tomorrow he'll be feeling a lot better, then it would be back to school on Wednesday.
Robert's first day back at school resulted in homework which lasted until nearly 5pm. The poor lad, hopefully tomorrow it won't be quite as much.
As I didn't really want a picture of the snow, I didn't really get the camera out today, but I just got up and took a picture of some of the pictures I rearranged today.

Day 13
We had a really lazy last day of the holidays for all of us. Tomorrow Florian goes back to work, Robert goes to school and Richard and I unfortunately need to go to the doctors. He no longer has a fever but he is still complaining that swallowing hurts, I'd rather have that checked out before it turns into something nasty!
At about 4pm I took a picture of all my loved ones doing their thing.

Day 12
The boys all played on the Wii this morning, its normally only Robert and Florian, but today Richard wanted to join in too, so they chose a game for more than two players! I spent the time doing the washing and trying to work out what I can cook without going shopping! I came up with a good idea, and it was delicious, but when cooking I used up all of Richard's butter, so I still had to go shopping today after all! Oops!
So after lunch off I went leaving Florian and Robert out feeding the chickens and Richard searching for some crafting materials. When I got back, only Richard was indoors, Florian and Robert were outside sawing up some more wood for our fire. They got a lot done!
Richard and I then spent a good 30 minutes searching for a balloon, he really wanted to do some paper maché, but I couldn't find a single balloon. In the end we called the neighbours and Sabine popped around with a balloon for him. And I now have a papermaché balloon drying on the windowsill.
Poor Richard's tummy has been bad all day, and when we had a cuddle, I realised that he also has a fever. At teatime he said it hurt to swallow, so it may well be a trip to a doctor instead of to school on Monday.....
Oh I got Florian to get a picture of our cuddle. Lucky joined in, Richard was so pleased that he was on his lap!
And this evening I baked a loaf of bread, it looks like bread, smells like bread and tomorrow we find out if it tastes like bread! If it does it was quite easy to make, so fingers xed!

Day 11
We all had quite a lazy morning - well except Florian who was on the phone to work quite a bit! The boys watched TV, played Wii and built Lego, so not too bad. After lunch we had a surprise planned for the last day of the boys holiday - we took them to Takka Tukka Land! All we told them was that we had a surprise planned, and we really did manage to surprise them. Often they guess before we get to wherever we were going, but this time, they had not a clue!
Florian and I sat down with a hot chocolate/ Latte Macchiato and a good book each, whilst the boys played. Before we got too comfy, Florian got a few pictures of the boys on the bouncy thing nearest to us. Looks like Richard needed to get something out of his system! ;o)

Day 10
This morning I went through the box of toys the boys had sorted out to be sold or given away. And I "bought" the Thomas the Tank Engine toys off of them and packed them away for any future grandchildren to play with. Whilst packing them away I was quite emotional, they used to love playing with them (and I did too) and now they are too grown up for them.
Lunch time I cooked two new meals at the same time - what was I thinking! I made Gino D'Acampo's mushroom and white wine risotto for Florian, Robert and me, and Richard had something from the new cook book I bought yesterday (it is one specially for people with a fructose allergy), as he did not fancy anything with mushrooms. So his was a rice dish with carrots and zucchini. Both were really delicious! Robert actually had some of both dishes, cause he wasn't 100% sure about the risotto!
This afternoon the boys had their last theatre workshop and the actual play! We dropped them off at 2.30 and went into town. I had the silly idea that we could go to C&A's and look and see if there was anything to spend my Xmas vouchers on. Not Florian's idea of a fun afternoon. So I hurried myself and then we went on to his sisters to wish our niece a Happy Birthday! - I did still manage to get a pair of trousers and blouse though!
At 5pm we headed back to Robert and Richard, with our niece and her friend, to see their play. When we got there, there was a lot of "big" shoes in front of the door, and when I stuck my head in, not only was everyone already there, they had already started! And I had asked specially yesterday at what time we had to be there!! Still it didn't matter too much, they did it twice for us! It was so cute! Here are a couple of pictures of the show!

Day 9
When I went to bed last night, I was really really worried about Lucky, he was acting really strange, and looked ill. So much so that I decided to get up early and downstairs before the boys - just in case! You can imagine how relieved I was when I came down at 7 to see him running towards me. And then exploring the bucket of wood!
He is still not quite right this evening, but nothing like last night, I'll keep my eye on him and maybe visit the doctor in the morning,
This afternoon Richard had his appointment with the nutrionist. She was so surprised when we had to report that there had been NO improvement to his tummy ache even though we stuck strictly to his diet. We now have something new to try out for two weeks and that is avoiding all wheat! That is already proving to be not only difficult but expensive too. But we'll try. I got some bread made with rye rather than wheat, it was delicious, but instead of about €1 for a loaf, I paid €3.60!! I also bought some flour to try and bake it myself, we'll see how that goes!
But the pasta too, instead of a few cents for a packet they cost 2 Euros. I wonder if Gino has a recipe to make them....I'll start with bread first though!

Day 7 and Day 8
We started watching "24" again yesterday and I promptly forgot to blog, so I am already playing catch up and its only the 8th day of the year!
Day 7 - Monday
Florian spent the day visiting doctors today, this morning he went to our doctor feeling a lot better than at the weekend, but when she looked in his ear, she was NOT happy and made an appointment for him at the Ear-Nose-Throat specialist for the afternoon. So after spending the morning at the doctors from 9.30 til nearly 12, he got to spend the afternoon at the ENT doctor - from about 4pm - 5.30pm! The doctor there took one look in his ears and said "Oh sh....!" - not what you want to hear your doctor say! Florian now has antibiotics and the rest of the week off of work. Hopefully soon he will be able to hear properly again. But now about my day!
Whilst Florian was out, I tidied up the kitchen and got rid of the last bits of Xmas (the advent candles and such) I then re-decorated the kitchen table. I used the autumn candles, but didn't get the autumn bits out to go with it, I found some pretty shells I collected years and years and years ago in Spain. Pretty aren't they?!
As Florian was still at the doctors come 11.45am I had to go and pick up the boys from their cousins. When I got there Florian's car was parked outside, apparently I hadn't heard my mobile ring. Sitting with the phone in my back pocket is not a clever idea!
In the afternoon the boys went to their theatre workshop. They LOVED it! they are doing Snow white and the Seven Dwarfs, and I have two dwarfs taking part! They are so excited about it all! Too cute!
And of course in the evening we started watching 24 again!
Day 8 - Tuesday
I had sport this morning, so I sent Robert to the local shop to get dinner for us. When I got back from sport I made beef gulash. I managed to find a recipe that didn't have onions in it, and it was really really yummy. So much so, that Richard has already staked claim to the leftovers for his lunch tomorrow! (He doesn't fancy the vegetable things I have planned for tomorrow!)
After lunch the boys played on the Wii with Florian. Oh I nearly forgot, whilst I was out this morning they sorted out some toys that they no longer play with in their bedroom they want to sell them and then save the money to buy themselves a computer! That may take a LONG while, but I haven't told them that yet!
At 2.30 it was time to take the boys to their workshop again. Whilst they were there, I went and did the weekly shopping, and then when I had finished with that I had a wander around the shops and then a hot chocolate in the mall cafe! this time it was a "real" hot chocolate and not a white one!
At tea time I realised I hadn't taken a picture today, so I got one of my men having tea!
Now I am going to go back to watching 24
