Day 304

This morning we had visitors instead of going to the bakers! We had some rolls left over from the party yesterday and had a lovely breakfast here with Florian's sister and family!
They too loved our ghost walk and spooky barn!

This afternoon the boys and I watched a film "Charlotte's Web" who would have thought a film about a spider could be that cute and moving! Robert has a bad cough and cold, so a quiet afternoon in, was a good idea! Here we are just about to watch the film

But we have had a pretty eventful evening. First the neighbourhood kids came trick or treating, and I gave them a third option of another go on the ghost walk, and was a hero!

Then Sabine phoned, a cat had followed them home and wouldn't leave them. Well that cute little kitten is now on Florian's lap having a wash! He feels right at home already, but tomorrow we will be hanging up posters to find his home. He is that trusting that he must belong to someone, and that someone is going to have a sleepless night - I know I would!
Isn't he cute! (Although I think it is probably a she!)Don't know what Sunny thinks about the visitor yet, he is still out chasing mice or such! We'll see when he comes home!

Day 303

Wow, what a day! I am exhausted but it was BRILLIANT!
I think I'll let the pictures speak for themselves first!

Everyone that came had a great time, and they were all well impressed with our decorations and organisation! Needless to say we now all feel pretty proud of ourselves! And here is a little video of the "ghost walk"! It is no where near as good as doing the real thing, as we had to let more light in for the camera, but you get a bit of a feel for it! Enjoy!

Day 302

This morning I made the posters for the halloween party, and then went to help Sabine and Katrin make the muffins for the party. It was fun decorating them with halloween gummibears!

Whilst Robert was doing some of his homework (he had a lot so we are spreading it over the weekend) Richard helped with the housework. He had been cutting up paper in the lounge so really it was only fair he cleared his own mess away!
At 4.30 we went to pick up Florian at the station. And after that we took the boys shopping. Richard's winter coat is too small for him, and the one that Robert had is too big, so we had to buy one. Mr. Grumpy (Richard) wasn't too happy about the whole business. First he complained about how long it was taking too long to get to the shop. Then he didn't want to try the first coat on, that was a bit too small, the next size up too big...And the third one, he really did not want to try on, once on, he wanted it, but we didn't! AGH! We then had to go to a different shop. There we had to bribe him with stickers for his new sticker book! But he was not happy, this coat wasn't blue! (its grey) Luckily the lining is blue! It fitted looked good and warm, so he now has a new coat! I was so glad Florian was with me to help convince him to try on, etc.

I got a new coat too, looks very smart and is cosy! I still had some money on my gift voucher from Xmas last year, so I got a final 2009 Xmas present!

For tea we started the cheese that Dinphy got for Florian, ooh it was delicious! Thank you so much Dinphy! And this evening we watched "Lethal Weapon III" haven't seen it for a while, still love it!
CU tomorrow, if I am not too exhausted from a barn full of ghosts...erm kids!

Day 301

Shopping this morning, I wanted to go to the toyshop to get the girls' Xmas presents as they have 20% off at the moment. I was in luck - Ramona had said that on holiday, the girls loved something called "The littlest Pet Shop". Well, at the toyshop, they actually had some things, and it was half price, and on top of that half price I got 20% off! BARGAINS!!! I love shopping like that. Now only Florian's nieces to sort out, only there I have to find out if they have a Xmas list yet!

Whilst out shopping I decided to treat the boys to the supermarket's sticker books. For every 10 Euros you spend at the shop you get a packet of stickers, or you can buy stickers for 50cts a packet. The book is all about Animals in the jungle and there are some beautiful pictures, and it explains all about the animals. I don't really shop there enough, but all the kids around here are collecting and swapping stickers (both at school and kindergarden) so I decided to let the boys join in.
They were so excited when they saw their present. Here they are busy putting their stickers in their books!Whilst they were doing that, I was falling in love with my new mixer all over again! I made LOTS of cookies using the mixer. I used to make the recipe without a mixer and I stopped making it, cause it really hurt to make it. But now with my new mixer, I put the ingredients in the bowl turned it on, and watched it do the work! Wow!
These are the cookies
Can you tell, that I forgot to add the brown sugar? (the white sugar is in them, so they are still sweet!) You can't from tasting them either, so they will be OK at the Halloween party on Saturday!
Watching Vampire Diaries now!

Day 300

Wow 300 days in 2010, where did they go?!

This morning I took Robert to school by car, cause I was working there this morning. A book store had a book exhibition on, and the classes go by and browse and the kids are allowed to choose what books they would like to buy. they then take their order form home for Mum and Dad to sign. I was helping out there today.
Robert's class didn't come by today, as they were cooking today, they made pumpkin soup. I sneaked over to there for 15 minutes, and had a bowl of soup, it was delicious. Completely different to mine, but VERY delicious!

This afternoon we had a visitor of a VERY different kind, and REALLY unwelcome! When I went to feed the chickens, they were in a very grumpy mood, I did my usual count of them, and thought ooh good, one must be in laying an egg. When I went in the house, there was noise under the perches, but it wasn't a chicken...this is who I found

Unfortunately I was too late to save one chicken, but I may have saved the rabbits life, he was hiding under his hutch! I spent nearly 30 minutes trying to get the big bird out of the henhouse, I kept showing him the door, but he kept trying to get out of the windows, and flapping about. I was on the phone to Mum for some ideas on how to get him out, and I was stood outside the henhouse at the time, and suddenly a huge bang, and the STUPID bird through out through a glass pane!Stupid, stupid bird!
The boys missed all of the action, I didn't want the bird attacking them, and at one point I did show the bird that I was armed with a garden fork...he was giving me an evil look. Anyhow when I went back in, I told them that we had lost one chicken and showed them the pictures of the bird. All they were interested in, was seeing the dead chicken - typical boys! They did not get to see that, needless to say!

Then it was time for the last football training session outdoors. WE finished it with bbq'd sausages. Delicious.

I never got out to the barn to get pictures of our halloween decorations, but I think the big bird more than makes up for it!

Day 299

So what happened today, I forgot to get a picture, and I have so many things in the barn that I could take a picture of, I think I'll come back tomorrow and post one on this post of our AMAZING barn!

This afternoon my friends were all around to finish the ghost walk and the barn off. I had to take the boys swimming, but left them all in charge, and when I got back I was SPEECHLESS! I don't think pictures could do it justice, but I'll try tomorrow. The ghost walk is just the right kind of spooky for the kids, and when we add the music and fog - yes we have someone who can organise a fog machine for the day! - it will be so AWESOME!! I just wish you could all come and see it live!
Anyhow I was only gone 1,5 hours and they all did so much, I have the best friends EVER! They even tidied and cleaned the utility room! (I now have curtains in there - now there is a good picture for today, brb!)The newly decorated utility room!

The boys had a great time swimming, they especially loved the diving bit, where they both got to touch the bottom of the pool! No fear, my boys!

This evening I watched another "Chick flick" - 27 dresses, I enjoyed it, but I think Florian would be glad he wasn't home!

CU tomorrow, with pictures of the barn, probably some football pictures, last outdoor training tomorrow!, and whatever else I get in front of my lense!

Day 298

Real life has us back again! This morning Robert went back to school, Richard back to Kindergarden and me back to work! And all this started in the dark...doesn't that happen quickly. Two weeks ago on the last day of school, it was still light on the way to the bus stop in the morning, this morning it was DARK! Winter is on its way!

This afternoon it was swimming, the boys are most definitely the best at jumping in the water, no fear whatsoever! Just need to practise the swimming now. Richard's arms are perfect, and his legs maybe too, but he seems to swim upright, but I'm sure he'll work it out soon!
After swimming we went shopping and got all the sausages for the Halloween party on Saturday, we are pretty organised I think!

And this evening I watched 17Again, another one of the films, where I forget that I am 41 and also pretend to be 17 again! Brilliant!

and for my picture today, this is what Richard made in Kindergarden last week, too cute. It is made out of the Actimel bottle, the boys loved collecting them for the project!

Day 297

We started our Sunday as so often - at the bakers. We had a lovely brunch with friends.

Back home I planted my tulips, that I got from Dinphy and family, now we'll see just how green my fingers are and whether they survive our winter! Florian and the boys played on the Wii, but Richard was "grumpy pants" today, he wasn't happy about ANYTHING today, I tried to get a good picture of his paddy, but he was determined not to let me, so he held his breath whilst I took this one! When the being grumpy just got to be too much, we thought some fresh air might help...and we had to go and vote for our mayor! Well, it didn't really help, he was still grumpy, he complained that we made him walk to the Kindergarden playground, he complained that we left too early (although he had stopped playing), he complained that he couldn't find any conkers (you name it, he complained!)
Here they are in the 5 minutes with out complaining on the fireman's slide! (well, Robert is nearly on the picture!)I think I know the reason behind the grumpiness though - it was a full moon last night...maybe tomorrow I will have my little darlings back..haha!
CU then!

Day 296

The boys let us have a lay in this morning, I need to mark that down in the diary, it doesn't happen too often! I think it may have something to do with the Lego, it certainly kept Robert busy today. He was indoors playing with his Lego for over an hour, whilst the rest of us, where out decorating the barn for Halloween or in Richard's case playing with his friends! Robert did eventually join us though!
As for us, wow, we got a long way with the decorating, and we went above and beyond what I could ever have imagined for our "Ghost Walk" - WOW WOW WOW! When it is completely finished we will do a video through it, cause no photo could ever do it justice!
But for now some pics from the decorating!

This is the beginning of the Ghost Walk
And here is where our spider went (but we will make another one for the toilet, I think!
And this is one corner of the barn, that spiders web stuff is horrible to put up, but the effect really works! And here is the other side of the barn, this will be above the spooky muffins and cookies!
This evening I caught up on all the ironing whilst watching the XFactor.

Hihi the cat just came in, and I have to post his picture, not sure what he has been doing all evening, but wow he is in a big mess!!CU tomorrow!

Day 295

Much better day today, no tummy aches (for any of us) and plenty to eat and drink!

I took the boys to the toy shop today, originally to get a small present for the birthday party Robert was going to, but I had promised them a few weeks ago that they could spend some money from their money boxes, so today was the day!
It was fun to see them go down every aisle trying to decide what they really really wanted. And here they are with their new toysAfterwards Robert wasn't sure if he wanted to go to the party as he soooo wanted to finish building his Lego!

Whilst Robert was at the Party, Richard and I made this monster for the Halloween Party next weekend! Now we just have to find a home for it!

And this evening I got my new homemade socks!Lovely and cosy they are!

Day 294

I am feeling much better this evening, luckily the bug seems to only last for 24 hours. Now just have to cross our fingers that Richard doesn't catch it, so far so good!

This morning we chatted online to Dinphy and family, that cheered the boys up immensely as they both constantly tell me "I miss our new friends" (so do I). Had I have been feeling better, I might have remembered to get a picture of it, but I didn't - shame!

The rest of the day I spent recuperating and doing the washing (still haven't finished all of that - that'll teach me to put it off for so long!)
The boys thoroughly enjoyed the day as they got to play on the Wii and watch TV all day long! Thank goodness for electronic babysitters!

This evening Robert decided that he would do a bit of extra work for school, and here he is doing it

Day 293

Up until 4pm the day was great, Dinphy and her family were still here, and we were busy having fun as usual.
This is the kids before we went to the bakers
And this is the kids at the bakers (this is the silly picture, we do have others with them not doing silly things!)In the afternoon Dinphy and Hans packed their car, then Hans took a nap so that he could survive the long drive home, whilst Dinphy and I talked scrapping and the kids played on the Wii.
At 4pm it was time to say goodbye. Such a shame to see our friends leave, the boys cried (even more when we had finished waving)and I had a lump in my throat. We have had a smashing time, Dinphy thank you so so much for coming to visit! And we all look forward to your next visit.

This is the boys at teatimewe had more tears about them missing their new friends and that they wanted them to come back. (Richard is holding the card Lisa made for them, with all of their pictures, so cute!)

I won't post a picture of me at the moment. Last night Robert was sick in bed, and I was up with him til about 3am. And unfortunately it doesn't seem to be a case of "I ate too much spaghetti", cause since about 5pm I have been feeling under the weather. Katrin brought me some medicine around, and that has managed to stop me throwing up, but the toilet is my best friend at this moment. I just hope that Dinphy and Hans don't get it on their way home...

I'm off to bed now for a very early night - shame cause I have so many pictures I wanted to look at again, and maybe scrap...

Day 291 and Day 292

Monday (Day 291)
Woohoo! Dinphy and her family are staying until Wednesday - we are all really excited about that, just such a shame that Florian had to go back down south in the evening.
In the morning we took them to see where we get our Xmas tree every year. The kids had a great time in the woods together, here they are on our way there, having a "big hug" (like the teletubbies)And here is the Xmas tree "field". It was really foggy as you can see, but it didn't stop us having fun!

In the afternoon we were invited to a birthday party and had to take Florian to the station, so Dinphy and her family went up our highest mountain, and they left the fog behind and were above the clouds! They went on the toboggan run and saw the views!

Before we all split up for the afternoon we took a group photo, well lots of them, I'm not even sure this is the best yet, but its a good one!

Tuesday (Day 292)
We spent the morning at home, the kids on the Wii and us in the kitchen chatting, then after lunch we had a surprise for the kids.
We took them to Takka Tukka Land - the indoor playground - They LOVED it. Lisa had a go on the high ropes course there. I did put Robert's name down for it, but I had to get my money back, cause he said it was too high. Lisa was all for it though, unfortunately a boy in front of her was a bit slow and she had to stand at the beginning for a bit too long with nothing to hold on to other than the rope she was hooked too, and then she got a bit worried. But she made it all the way round, and my boys were very proud of her! Before we left we treated the kids to one ride on the cars (they are the only thing in there that cost). And then we went to an Italian restaurant. The boys had spaghetti and I promised not to tell that they were even better than Nanna's!! (sorry Mum!)

Day 290

Well, it's Sunday today, so we went to the bakers for breakfast and lunch! Here the kids are playing catchand here we all are having rolls and such! After a few hours at the bakers we then went into Fulda to see the Schloß, Florian took all the kids to the park and Dinphy, Hans and I went around the Schloß.
Here are a couple of pictures Florian took of the kids
We then come back home to warm up again before we went out to the Florenberg which wasn't where we originally intended to go, but the Restaurant in the Rhön was full!! We had a lovely meal with a view.

Unfortunately Lisa had an upset tummy this afternoon and was a bit out of sorts, but she did well, and hopefully tomorrow all will be better again.
CU then.

Day 289

We have had a great time today. Even though it was raining for most of the day. In the morning we let all the kids play on the Wiimost of the time they managed without fighting ;o)

Then we went to "our" restaurant for lunch. Afterwards we caught a break in the rain and went for a walk, hoping to see the highland cows, but it looks like they have moved on...
But we did get a different view of the restaurant
From there we went swimming. It was great fun, the kids were up and down the slide, in and out of the waves...No pictures from there, the cameras were locked in the lockers!
At 6pm we all left there exhausted (well the kids were and me!)
Back at home it was time for tea, then bed for the kids.
This is bedtimeDinphy had an English book that her kids like, so I read it for them (with a lot of help from Tommie) Too cute! Robert and Richard nearly fought to sit next to Lisa (they both have a crush on her)!

Very early today, but I have visitors!!
DINPHY and her family are here!

Here we are giggling, we get on just as well in real life as online! And I know we are going to have a super weekend together.

The kids are already best friends, it took them all of 5 minutes! The language barrier is no problem whatsoever!
