Day 90

We woke up this morning to rain and it didn't really stop all day, so no playing outside for the boys today. So instead after homework, they spent quite a bit of time playing on the Wii. In the afternoon I babysat my nieces too, and we all sat down and watched a Disney film, it was one I hadn't seen before and it was great fun!
Just don't tell the boss that I was translating at the same time...Good job I can multitask!

Katrin popped around at lunchtime and brought me the pictures the photographer took at Kindergarden, so they are going to be my pictures for today

So nothing really exciting today. But I did forget to post my ADSR layout here yesterday so here it comes today. This is the second challenge, and we had to scrap about a family member that inspires us

Day 89

Another day in quarantine! I only just took my picture, so here is the only "person" in the house at the minute without spots!

Oh he is yawning, its a tiring life being a cat here! (NOT all he does is sleep, I suppose that makes you tired!)

So I got up this morning with new spots on my arm..NOT what I wanted to see and I am trying hard to ignore them. Robert did some homework in the morning and after I let them play on the Wii for an hour. I got all the way to Wednesday without giving in to the Wii, not bad! Then it was out into the garden again for them and I started making lunch - Ratatouille today, delicious!
After lunch more homework for Robert and then more garden, but the temperature dropped considerably this afternoon and the boys weren't having as much fun out there. So when Katrin dropped off a DVD for them to watch, that is what we did!
After tea it was bathtime for the boys, well shower as apparently I'm not supposed to bath them when they have chicken pox! but they badly needed one!

I'm sorting out 2007 pictures now getting them ready for yet another photobook!

Day 88

I have to stop thinking that we are nearly through the chicken pox and then maybe we will be. This morning when I went to put the ointment on the boys spots, there were LOTS more to do! Oops, looks like we will be in quarantine a bit longer yet!
This morning however we did go out, we had absolutely NO rabbit food left, and I didn't think the poor thing should starve cause of the chicken pox, so we drove into town and I left the boys in the car and went and quickly got some. We also stopped by the bakers for some bread and the boys convinced me to get them a Brezel each and some Quarkbällchen (some sort of doughnut like cake). Then it was back home again.
The boys went and played in the garden, whilst I got the ironing finished.

After lunch we all went out in the garden, I did some gardening. Well I started tidying up some autumn leftovers. One bed that I tackled was just one mass of stinging nettles, so I got the weedkiller out and now I am hoping it works its magic, before the little plants get any bigger.

The boys played with the branches that Florian cut down the other week. It was really Richard's "game" - as in he made it up and only "let" Robert play. But I only got a good shot of Robert. He is apparently not sat on a tree but in a racing car! (good job I told you, right?!)

And this is Richard telling me exactly what he is going to do with all the twigs he got off of the branch!

Day 87

Even though we were home all day we still got up nice and bright and early, cause I had to phone school and let them know Robert wouldn't be coming in for a while! And yep he had new spots this morning - ME NOT! Let's hope it stays that way for me, don't really need chicken pox!

Whilst I did some housework the boys played outside for most of the day, they have a new favourite spot in the garden and I got a couple of pictures of them playing there

I don't actually know what they get up to, but I did catch them putting coloured sticky tape on our wall and telling oneanother that Mummy and Daddy wouldn't know. Well, I did know and it is gone now. They had made the German flag with it all, very creative but wrong place, boys!
I also caught them at one point in the chicken run "throwing" the chickens about, they got shouted at about that too. The poor chickens were scared stiff, I suppose now we won't have another egg for a LONG while! I told the boys if I caught them doing it again I would throw them to see if they could fly too, hopefully that is a threat I won't have to follow through on!

The ADSR race is on (Amazing Digital Scrapbooking Race) and Dinphy and I are partnered up for it, the first challenge went up yesterday and I did my layout for it today. You had to scrap 6 random facts about your family and include family pictures! And here it is

Day 86

OK, Bingo! Robert complained this morning about something itching "all through the night", well guess what - he too has chicken pox. Not quite as many as Richard, so we'll see how that goes. And yesterday I thought we were nearly through with Richard's but no this morning he has some new itchy ones - bother!
After lunch I went to the village hall to vote, yep once in a while I too am allowed to vote, and today was one of those days, normally we would all go together, but chicken pox put pay to that! On the way back I saw Katrin and told her about Robert, and then said, actually I itch here right now, but I'm not going to look. So she did and oops, look 4 itchy spots!

 I'm hoping they are bites from something, but if I am honest they look suspiciously like Richard's did...mmh we'll see!
The boys spent the afternoon in the garden rediscovering their building site

Florian had to go back down south this evening we had booked him a taxi, cause of school in the morning, but as no one is going anywhere, we drove him to the station.

Day 85

We spoke to Florian's sister this morning and they have all had chicken pox, so we arranged to barbecue in the afternoon - the first in 2011!! And it is not even Easter - that is just too late this year to wait until then to barbecue!

So in the morning I rushed to get something to barbecue, I got lots of sausages and found some un-marinated steaks and decided to try my hand at marinating! I did quite alright really.
After lunch I got rid of the pile of ironing threatening to take over my couch whilst the boys played outside. They were in fact out ALL afternoon, cause when the girls got here, they stayed out playing. At one point I went out and found them all cuddling an animal, the girls all had chickens and Richard had the rabbit (which Robert had just given him)

our poor animals! But the kids were having fun!
The food was delicious, we had sausages, steak (Florian had Feta with red pepper), garlic bread, rice salad, tomatoe salad, lambs lettuce salad and Tzatziki - DELICIOUS!

Day 84

Quarantine Day 2 - Robert went off to school today MUCH better, no tears and no screaming, just a quick wave. He was still waving two doors down, but today he didn't turn around he just waved and hoped I was watching I think!
Richard and I did a lot of TV watching today, well, Richard did more than me, I tidied the kitchen and cleaned the floor and finished the washing!
Not quite sure why I cleaned the floor, cause in the afternoon, whilst Robert was at the climbing lesson, Richard wanted to paint...At one point he had too much water on his painting and he started to carry it to the sink...not a good idea. Whilst Richard was painting I did some more eggs. I think now we have another 50 to go! Richard seemed to think that Daddy would be making some at the weekend, we'll see!

We picked Florian up after that, the first thing Richard said to him in the car was "Daddy, I've got chicken pox" too cute! He is still all spotty, so we will still be staying home tomorrow...

Day 83

Well, guess where we spent our morning!! Yep at home!
The boys were both up before the alarm this morning, Richard could have had a nice lay in today, but he was just wide awake. Robert had to walk to the busstop on his own today and after crying himself to sleep about it last night, he wasn't much better when it came to leaving this morning. He cried whilst putting on his shoes and coat, and he cried all the way to the end of the road and across the main road, and then I couldn't hear him anymore. I was a mean Mummy, all I did was shout at him to get a move on and not to miss the bus. I did wave all the way to the main road (when will the trees get their leaves, cause then I wouldn't have to wave so long...!)

Richard then watched quite a bit of TV, whilst I got on with some housework. Then later we did a jigsaw or two together and played a game. When I "painted" his spots this morning I still couldn't believe they were chicken pox. So in the afternoon, whilst Robert was round his friends house playing (they have all had chicken pox), Richard and I went to "our" doctor for a second opinion. She looked him over (a lot more thoroughly than the doctor yesterday at the hospital) and said, yes it really is chicken pox, but because he has had the vaccine, they look a bit different and are a bit milder. Still chicken pox though so still quarantine for us!
Whilst there I got myself a sick note for work. My new boss is playing his role well, he couldn't even be bothered in his email to me to say "get well soon" or something along those lines, all he is worried about is "will she work from home", and that after last time not sending me anything to work on...Oh well, we'll see what happens on Monday.

Now with all that ranting I nearly forgot to post a picture! Here are two from in the garden, Richard and I sat out the front for a bit before going to the doctor.

And these are my tough daffodils, they made it up and through the stones, the fleece was too difficult for them, but I cut them a hole today! And when they have finished flowering I will dig up the bulbs and move them!

Day 82

Well if ever a day doesn't go to plan, today was certainly one of them! First of all, school called, that always makes my heart stop. Apparently the maths teacher is ill, so there wasn't an extra maths today and could they send Robert home on the bus! Yep, I am home, so they can!
So I replanned my morning to make sure I was home when his bus got here. I had thought about going in to town to C&A this morning, but I wanted to be sure to be home on time, C&A can wait!

When Robert got home, we left his jacket (and mine) at home and walked to Kindergarden to pick up Richard. Gosh the weather was so beautiful today, really really warm! It was so beautiful that the boys wanted to play outside when we got home. They really enjoyed themselves and I was indoors making lunch. We had curry today a first for the boys. They both actually enjoyed it, well until at the end Robert decided to leave the last spoonful cause it was burning his throat (it wasn't that hot, but it was unusual for us!)

After lunch they went upstairs to play at about 2.20pm Richard came down scratching away, saying "Mummy, it really really itches here" Well I lifted up his T-shirt and he was covered in spots. Uhoh! We creamed them up with the cream I have (not really for itching, but sometimes anything will help) but beforehand I took pictures

I put these on facebook to see if anyone had any ideas. All sorts we had. I spotted Katrin walking past and we both decided that Sabine was probably best qualified to determine if it was chicken pox, as her daughter had it in January. She saw it and sent us off to the doctors, which on a Wednesday afternoon means a trip to hospital, cause all doctors are closed Wednesday afternoons.
Robert went to his friend, and from their with them to football training.

Well at the doctors he took one look at Richard from about 1.50m distance and said, yep Chicken Pox! So we are now in quarantine, GREAT! NOT!!!

But tonight when he went to bed, I had the feeling that the spots were actually getting better, and that can't really be, so I am not sure, but maybe tomorrow it will be another trip to the doctor to see what he really has..I'll keep you all posted!

Day 81

The photographer came to Kindergarden today to get pictures of all the kids, we'll see how she did sometime next week. But it was a compliment to me, when a couple of the Mum's asked me, if I could take the brother/sister pictures of their kids, cause the photographer messed up and forgot!

We went back to Kindergarden after lunch, cause Richard's brother wasn't at Kindergarden, the photographer couldn't forget him, cause we had an appointment. The boys are luckily used to having their picture taken and smiling on command, so it was no problem and we were finished in 4 minutes! But I still find it hard to believe that she actually only took 2 pictures of each pose...and then she made me choose then and there which one I liked best and boom the other picture was gone! Different world, I suppose!

After that Robert went to play round his friend's house and Richard and I went home. It was egg chain making afternoon. Katrin, Sabine and Jochen came round and we drilled holes in the eggs, stapled the ribbons that are to go between the eggs and then tried stringing them together.

 We are pretty pleased with how it looks.

Now we just need Kindergarden to finish decorating the eggs and then we can get it all stringed together and hang up.

This afternoon I also had a gardener round to give us a quote on getting the fruit trees pruned properly. Well at 550 Euros we will be googling "pruning" and trying ourselves. We'll see how that goes!

Day 80

Work this morning absolutely nothing to report from there...a bit boring but paid boredom! This afternoon it was the boys swimming lessons. I didn't take a camera, but I found this picture on the internet of the pool. The boys are learning to swim in the pool on the right of the picture, and I swim in the bit on the left.

And today I swam 22 lengths, needless to say I am exhausted! But pleased with myself! And I am also proud of Robert, he was swimming today without armbands. He look proud of himself too!
When we got home, the boys laid the table for tea - that's a first! And after tea, the boys had to get back in some water, shower time. We wash the chlorine off at home as well, as our doctor told us, that some pools use the same water as in the pool in the showers and that would not be good for any of our skin, but even worse for poor Richard!
Been chatting on Skype to Florian this evening and tried to take a picture of it...(can't post the first one I took all you can see is how dirty the screen is! Ooops!)

and now I am going to watch Glee!

Day 79

Beautiful day today, blue skies ALL day! But it was pretty cold still, but just all that sunshine was lovely! Guess where we went in the morning - yep the bakers! And today Florian's sister beat us there! But then again, we weren't rushing, cause we know they are never on time...just not today! hihi!

After lunch we all went outside, I tidied up the front garden and trimmed all the plants out there, squashed lots of sleeping snails and uncovered some daffodils fighting for their life under the stones where the seat goes! I'll have to dig those bulbs up after they have flowered, but for now, they can see the light again and will look pretty inbetween all the stones!
Florian and the boys changed the winter tyres on the car! Here they are just starting out!

And this is me and the boys just before bedtime, we were watching Strawberry Shortcake and in the adverts Florian got thes pictures of us! They are too cute to decide which to show, so here are my top three!

Day 78

Well it seems that only I thought that playing with the Playmobil and sorting it at the same time would be a fun thing to do! So it has been postponed. Instead Florian took the boys outside and I went and hoovered the boys bedroom, moving toys and furniture as I went. It looks good in there now - I wonder how long for!

After lunch we all went shopping, Robert got some new football shoes and Florian got a jack for the car, so that tomorrow he can change my tires ready for when we have to give the car back, which could be any day soon! On the way back we stopped and got a shot of the mountains, it was so clear.

Not quite sure where the day went, but by the time we got home it was time for tea. We had pancakes again, only this time with lemon and sugar for me! Yummy!

Day 77

I spent all day today trying to clear up the boys bedroom, we are nearly done but a little bit more to do in the morning. We really need to rethink how we store their toys, the Lego and Playmobil are taking over! Tomorrow I also plan to sort the playmobil out, so that all the men have their hair, the cars their wheels, etc... We'll see how well that goes!
The boys did help a little bit (mainly by keeping me company in their room) but at 2pm I took them to their climbing lessons. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves again. Today they did some climbing and then at the top of the wall, the stopped and drew a picture! Not bad, eh?!

So I was so busy tidying that I completely forgot to take a picture, so I have pinched one off the internet to show you all who we are watching now- Meet Jack Bauer!

 I did watch some of Comic Relief this evening (until the picture on BBC started disappearing) it was good, especially MasterChef does Comic Relief, so funny!

Day 76

So, yesterday I forgot about Robert's spots, they are still there, but they don't look like chicken pox, so I haven't taken him to the doctor, I am just waiting for them to be gone again, like spots often do! We'll see how much luck I have with this approach!

And my clock, well it got new batteries reset itself properly and woohoo we didn't oversleep today! Phew!
English lesson in the morning, and it seems Old MacDonald and the farm animals is more to the kids liking. They seemed to be remembering more animals than body parts! I also practised "th" with them, as "three" is one of the most difficult words for the poor kids, but I really don't want them saying "sree". Getting them to stick their tongue out was more difficult than I expected, but I had a good giggle inside!

This afternoon I was supposed to be babysitting my nieces, but the appointment got moved, so it was just me and the boys. Until Robert's friend phoned, then there was three kids here! We did some egg painting. I was going to take pictures of the whole thing, BUT oh dear - it was so messy! I had paint stuck to all 10 fingers, so there was no chance of me getting any pictures until we had finished. So here are our eggs and one in detail

The boys all enjoyed it! Then I let them play on the Wii and then watch a film - guess what the weather was like?! Yep cold and wet, shame, cause all three of them would have loved to go out to play! Maybe on the next play date!
As Robert had his friend around he never got around to his homework until after tea, and then he seemed to be dragging it out, trying to push bedtime back a bit...didn't go down well. And I think I was still seething about it, when Florian phoned, so sorry Florian for my mood when you phoned. All is good now!

I got my photobook finished and ordered, now to wait and see how it turned out! Can't recommend making a book online though, it was more  of a chore than a pleasure, but hopefully the book will make up for it!

Oops nearly forgot the incident at the busstop this morning. Some of the kids were playing tag, and as they run past me I shouted "mind the road" kids are however deaf to those words, but they did THANK GOD hear my STOOOOOPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! and the little boy came to a stop 5cm (!!!!!) from the car that was coming and had to break hard. I gave the little kid such a telling off and then a cuddle. But it took me a while to recover from the shock of it all! Just thinking about it now, makes me go all shaky again! Lots of guardian angels at work this morning!

Day 75

What a start to the day!
At 5.40am both boys were stood at the side of my bed, saying "Mummy our clock says it's late", mmh, I knew that I had changed it when I put them to bed last night, cause I wanted them in bed before seven! So I sent them both back to bed telling them it wasn't even 6am yet. Then I spent the next 20mins dozing and waiting for the alarm to go off, then I put it on snooze twice, finally getting out of bed at 6.15am. Off I head to the bathroom and we have a clock there too....uhoh it says 7.15am! Can't be, I have a "radio-controlled" alarm clock (is that what it is called in English, not sure...), back to my bedside to re-check, check my wrist watch, and the clock in the hall. All except my alarm agree on 7.15am!
I shout to the boys that we have to race to get dressed - Why?! Was the answer to that one. But guess what by 7.30am we were all out on the way to Kindergarden, School and the Library! Still don't know how we did it!
Richard had his breakfast at Kindergarden, Robert had his in the car on the way to school, and I had a banana before the kids got to the library!

This afternoon was the boys first outdoor training of the year. AFter it being so warm for the last two days, it was such a shame. Yesterday 18°C, today only 8°C but at the football ground only 5°C it was cold! Next week if it is this cold again, I will NOT be watching! I did today though and look I took ONE photo!

Day 74

So today I didn't go in to work, cause I had to register Richard for school next summer - yeah 2012. German efficiency I think, they like to get things done on time!!! I had no idea what to expect, as it has all changed since Robert started school. So I was quite surprised when I was only there for 5 minutes, and it only took that long, cause I had a little chat with the secretary too!
Oh well, I had arranged that I would then work from home. Well, that didn't go as I planned, but I have a vague suspicion that it may well have gone according to my bosses plan! They didn't send me any work...But enough about that.

This afternoon we went back to yesterdays playground, only this time there was more of us, I think there were 13 kids and 5 adults complete with cakes and drinks! It was a fun afternoon, just a shame that the wind was back...it wasn't quite as warm as it looked! I was so busy chatting that I actually forgot to get the camera out.

The boys had a bath this evening and poor Robert is covered in red spots. I'm going to decide in the morning whether I think they are little bites from some bug on the playground or whether I should be goign to the doctor cause of chicken pox... I think bugs at the minute!
Once the kids were in bed, I waited for my SIL to pop round, she babysat for me, whilst I went to a parents evening at Robert's school. It was to introduce us all to the new maths teacher, she is young, fresh from school and very motivated - so just what the kids need! Made me feel old, but I suppose, when the teachers and doctors are younger than you, that's when you realise you aren't 20 anymore!! Well at least I finally have!

OK, now to get the camera and get a shot of this lazy cat next to me, he hasn't starred here in a while, so perhaps he'll be obliging!

 Mmh not really, but at least he is clean now!

Day 73

Work today, and the talk with my new boss, the one he threatened with last week never happened, says it all really! But enough about work.

After Robert had finished his homework, we took his friend his (he had to go home from school early - upset tummy) then I took the boys to the playground, like I had promised them on Saturday. The playground is up a hill and can be quite windy up there, but today it was nice. Warm enough to sit and watch the kids play. We met some other Mums and kids there, so I got to have a nice chat too! Between chats (the Mum's and kids changed!) I got these shots of the boys!

Swimming was cancelled today, the instructor sounded awful on the answer machine, I hope she is better next week, cause believe it or not, I was actually looking forward to it today, so I was as disappointed as the boys were.
This evening I have been working on my third photo book. And to get my voucher I HAVE to use the online software, and oh dear, not something I can actually recommend. But then I suppose that is why they have us testing it! Maybe some of our ideas will be incorporated in the near future. BUT I will persevere cause I really really want another photo year book!

Day 71 and Day 72

Oops, I have a new project - another photobook, this time of 2008 and I spent all evening sorting through 1000s (and I mean 1000s) of photos choosing the best for our new book, and well I forgot all about blogging until it was a bit late! (oh and I have another voucher for the book, that is why there is the hurry, it is for 30 Euros again but expires at the end of the month!)

Saturday - Day 71
We all went to the shops together this morning, the boys promised to be good, and they were, so they got a magazine when we had finished. Robert even read the comic story in his himself!
My boys did some experimenting today. They got a set for Xmas which cleans water, or shows the basic principle behind cleaning water. So for starters we needed some dirty water, we went and got some from the chickens which we made dirtier by adding some earth. Then they all built up the "Thing" to clean it with.

And wow it actually worked, not clean enough to drink but definitely visible to the naked eye! The boys were impressed.

In the afternoon the boys and I went out whilst Florian took a nap. We were going to go to the playground, but Katrin and Sabine were out sat in the sunshine with all the kids running around at Sabine's so we spent the afternoon there. The boys were a bit put out we never made it to the playground, but the girls were right, its always really windy up there, so we were much better off where we were.
After tea we did a chocolate fondue -

 thank you Dinphy and Hans, the chocolate from the rock was PERFECT for it, I think the boys faces say it all, it was DELICIOUS!

I spent the evening sorting pictures and watching Jack Bauer.

Sunday, Day 72
A pretty uneventful day today. We had our "pancake day" today (should have been on Tuesday), only Florian forgot to mention that he finished the lemon juice yesterday morning, so I was a bit put out that I couldn't have real English pancakes, but they were nice too with Nutella, Strawberries and bananas! The boys loved them!

The boys played with the ministeck in the afternoon, whilst I got the week's ironing out of the way. Richard now has a complete set of Super Mario figures!

In the evening it was time for the annual "Hutzelfeuer", it was so weird though. Spring was here the last two days, so instead of going to the Hutzelfeuer in our snowsuits like in previous years, I was there actually taking my scarf off! Very strange. But fun as usual, but even hotter, once this was lit!

Day 70

An uneventful day here today, no punch ups, no bruises, and no bullying that I saw! This morning I went out and got a birthday present for Robert's little friend (Lego) and when I came home, I tackled even more laundry - where does it all come from!

This afternoon Robert went to his birthday party, I never gave the Mum the pleasure of seeing me still seething about her not having told me where they were going, but mainly because I knew where they were going, another Mum got it out of her, when they said their daughter would not be coming! They were going bowling, now why that had to be a secret I will never know!

Whilst Robert was out,Richard did some drawing and colouring, and then I let him practise on the Wii on his own, he looked quite pleased with himself. Then it was time to pick Florian up at the station. Florian had to go to the doctors right away for some blood work but when he got back, Richard got to play on the Wii with his Daddy. Look how pleased he looks

Robert got home about 8pm so it was late to bed for the kids, but I doubt they will sleep longer in the morning!

Day 69

Well, I am not the most popular person at the busstop for this week at least. This morning I first tackled the lad that hit my lad! I told him, that he shouldn't go around hitting kids, and most definitely not in the face. And now I have heard it all, he told me in all earnest "I didn't hit him, Robert walked into my fist" - er, I don't think so. This happened on the bus. But I wasn't about to argue it with him, and told him, that however it happened, my boy has a black eye and HE has to apologise. Which he did. I have since heard from reliable witnesses, that he did indeed hit Robert. So next time I think I will involve his parents!
Once that was over and done with, I was chatting with the only other Mum that is always at the busstop, and one of the girls comes running over ABC punched XYZ. Well, ABC is bullied nearly every morning at the busstop by the other girls, so I think this morning she had just had enough of being picked on and snapped. So instead of taking the side of the girl that was hit, I took the other side, so I don't think I am too popular!

Today was English at Kindergarden again, and guess what, today they knew their body parts! Wow, sometimes I do get through to them. But we didn't dwell on body parts today, today we did farm animals and then sung Old MacDonald. It was a bit confusing for them, because not only do they have to learn the names of the animals, but also the different sounds they make in English. They thought it highly hilarious, that even the animals "talk" different!

This afternoon both boys had playdates, but NOT here, so I had an afternoon off. We all had a good time. Even if I did spend my time with a toothbrush in the shower!! (Cleaning right into the corners!)
Robert walked home on his own from his date at 6pm and Richard was brought home just after that. Robert still had homework to do - apparently he spent all his time at school trying to get his question mark to go the right way round and because of that he didn't do 3(!!!) pages of work and had to finish them at home. That kept us busy right up til bedtime!

Oops so busy telling you about my day, that I nearly forgot the picture. Whilst Robert was doing his first lot of homework, Richard was playing with the Ministeck. And this is what he made

Day 68

Today was a bit less exciting than yesterday but it still had its moments. But I'll start at the beginning.
Shopping day first isn't it great when you go food shopping and come home with a new pair of jeans as well! Haven't tried them on yet, so hopefully they fit!

After shopping we  were around Sabine's discussing the "egg thing", and then we took 200 eggs to Kindergarden for them to paint. Apparently when Sabine went back up to Kindergarden at 3pm this afternoon they had already started painting them, and they look amazing, so I can't wait to see in the morning.

Robert came home as planned today, BUT he was holding his eye and crying when I opened the door. Apparently one of the older kids (4th year) punched him in the eye on the bus. I can see where it is bruised on this picture, but it isn't really that visible. But my poor Robert.

His friend's brother phoned me, and told me all about the incident and what happened, so tomorrow I will be having a couple of words with this kid at the busstop in the morning. Cause even if Robert did provoke (I don't really know any details) it, the boys should not have been punching him in the face! So we will see how that goes tomorrow.

After homework, Robert hat a friend round to play, I even let them have a bit of time on the Wii, as you can see here.

 Tomorrow Robert has a playdate at his friends house, and Richard wants his friend over. Could this be the start of their social lives?!

Day 67

Whoah what a day! I won't go into details about work this morning on my blog, but lets say I wasn't exactly in a rosy sort of mood when I left! And it didn't help that no one needed anything translated today either!
Well I left at 12 and drove straight to Kindergarden to pick Richard up, who was in no hurry to get home today at all. So we eventually arrived home at 12.30 only to find Robert out on the driveway waiting for us...I was in shock to say the least! He was supposed to still be at school. After I calmed down I remembered that it may well have been my fault that he wasn't there as I only "told" them that he was to go to the after care class and never gave it them in writing. So I suppose I can't kick up a fuss about it, but it was definitely NOT what I was expecting. LUCKILY Robert was very grown up about it, he went to both of my friends, but today of all days, neither was home. So then he just waited outside home! Without his coat on, but thats a different story! Both Mum and I praised him about being such a big boy, and he now has another friend added to his list of places to go to, if Mummy isn't home!

After lunch we got a HUGE parcel of eggs!

Yep eggs, the sort that you paint, we are going to be decorating the well in the middle of the village for Easter and we will be needing all 500 of these eggs! The kids at Kindergarden are going to be very busy soon painting and painting and painting. (Here are some examples of "Osterbrunnen" http://osthessennews.de/beitrag_G.php?id=1180016)

Then it was time to meet some friends at Takka Tukka Land, which was fun until about 5pm, when Robert came over tears streaming down his face and clutching his neck. He was really hurting, I am still not sure what happened as Robert was blaming Richard and Richard was denying any involvement. But whatever he was hurting and I couldn't see anything. We got him an ice pack from the counter and cooled it a bit. But when he started saying he couldn't turn his head, I got a bit worried. Even more so, when he burst into more tears after I asked him to look at the ceiling. I decided that we should visit the emergency room at hospital, bundled the kids up again and said goodbye. I drove straight to the hospital. I parked got us all out of the car, and got a parking ticket. It is a pay and display car park, so I told the boys to stay by the ticket machine and behave, whilst I went back to put the ticket in the car. When I got back they were fighting with oneanother. I just called over "Oi, that doesn't sound like anything hurts!" To which Robert replies, "it's all better Mummy" -??? I got him to look left, right up and down at least three times, and each time no hesitation and him telling me it was all all better. So we got back in the car, gave our ticket to a lucky lady parking, and went home. I spent most of the rest of their day asking if he was sure it didn't hurt, to which in the end he said "Mummy, I'll tell you when it hurts again!" - I'm still not quite convinced and as soon as I have finished blogging I will be checking on him. But it really seems that whatever it was is gone again! Phew!

So what a day!

Day 66

Well the boys were up sometime after 6am (I know they weren't up at 6, cause that is when Florian left to go to work), I got up at 7.30am for some strange reason I was wide awake then. Shame another little lay in would have been nice!
Perhaps it was all that sunshine coming in through the window. It was a beautifully sunny day. So I actually decided to take the boys to another carnival parade after lunch.

We met Katrin and Sabine at 12.45 then off we went to the next village. It was fun, completely different to the parade where Mum and Dad are. But the boys got lots and lots of sweeties, so they were happy!

We got home about 4pm and were all exhausted. So we all just watched a bit of TV. That is when I realised just why my face was all hot and sore - I got sunburnt this afternoon! Who would have thought that possible in March!

Florian phoned and he has now got my cold. So it looks as if I never actually caught his cold, but he got mine, oops! Get well soon, Florian!
