Day 243

so another fun morning at the doctors today! Kindergarden got me all worried when I took Richard in, saying that he probably had "aphthous oral infection" (Mundfäule) which is apparently highly contagious. Luckily for me and Richard that is not what he has, he as mouth ulcers and mouth soor (Mundpilz). So we now have cream to numb the pain, a spray to get rid of the soor, and he has to gargle with chamomile tea which apparently will help too. So we have been busy today. He got the hang of washing his mouth out with the tea, surprisingly quickly.

I have been signed off work with my cold, so if Robert does still feel under the weather tomorrow, at least I will be home for him. Although she did say there was no reason not to send him to Kindergarden. So maybe I will get to recuperate.

This afternoon summer was back, so we were in the garden, I have decided to re-read "Woman of Substance" and the boys did some playdoh and then made themselves a seesaw!
The things those two come up with! After that they were jumping on one end making a huge stone fly into the air, had to put a stop to that one though!

Day 241 and 242

Wondering where I was yesterday, it was my nieces birthday party (where I took LOTS of photos) and we had a great time. We travelled down for lunch with Mum and Dad, the weather had cooled down immensely, and we were quite worried about the party in the garden, but once we got there, the sun came out, it warmed up and we were able to enjoy.
Robert was suffering a bit when it came to eating with his mouth ulcer, but even he still enjoyed himself.

This is one of my favourite pictures of the day though, Florian took it and I don't know how he managed to get it, because all I remember of the shot is lifting Richard onto my lap, telling him that Daddy was going to take our photo and him screaming "no" and fighting to get off. So this shot is a miracle!!and if you want to see what other mischief we got up to at the party, check my scrapping blog here!

Day 242 (Sunday)
Today my cold that started Friday seems to have fully developed, so I did some relaxing today whilst Florian played with the kids. A bit difficult today cause the kids were up at the crack of dawn again today, even though they didn't get to sleep until about 9pm! So as you can imagine they were a bit grumpy today. Robert was actually not only grumpy but really naughty, we caught him at one point purposely jumping on Richard's bed, trying to break the wooden slats! GRRRR!!!
Is it something to do with his mouth ulcer...??? Which incidently has multiplied, so tomorrow another trip to the doctors!
Anyhow here is today's picture, Florian and Richard working out! So cute!CU tomorrow

Day 240

Well, last night I thought that as I was all tidy that I would go for a little wander around town, but once I had taken the boys to Kindergarden I was enjoying the peace and quiet at home too much to want to go out. So I stayed home and relaxed here it was great!

this afternoon it was just me and Richard, also quite relaxing not to have to keep breaking up a fight. Robert went to his first childrens b-day party - well one that I wasn't invited to too! He had a GREAT time. He apparently didn't eat there, which is strange since he didn't touch his lunch either. But I have since found out that he has an ulcer in his mouth, so I think I will have to visit the chemist in the morning for that.

Anyhow Richard had free choice what we did this afternoon - first he wanted to have some sweeties, did that. then he wanted some apple and grapes - Robert hadn't eaten his at Kindergarden, so Richard got them. I think he would have carried on eating then but I told him that was all until teatime! And as suspected he did NOT want to go in the garden! Such an indoor boy! He wanted to do drawing, cutting and glueing - could I have a paperscrapper in the making! Not bad for his first attempt, don't you think! I didn't give him photos to cut up though, they are from old catalogues I think!

Day 239

So have you all been guessing who came to visit me today? It wasn't my Mum, as she said, and no it wasn't Dinphy, but Dinphy you are more than welcome to visit!
No, Bentonflocke stopped by, and we got on great and had a great time. Although when we chatted on a messenger I told her not to bring anything with her, she did bring us all a little present, thank you again!I now have a smart glass for my apple juice, some little tiny bars of chocolate so that I don't feel guilty when I have a bar! and the boys got a car each - which they played with all afternoon.

We went out for lunch to the Sieberzmühle, "our" restaurant around the corner, with the great playground. The boys were both excited about having a "lady" visit AND going to the restaurant.
After playing there we came back and spent some time in the garden, before Bentonflocke had to go home again. It was a lovely time. So much so, that I didn't actually take any photos, so we have to meet again, to get a picture of us together! And I think we most probably will! Bentonflocke did take some of the kids, so check her blog later on!

Day 238

Well, today Robert went back to Kindergarden after lunch. Now that he is in his last year at Kindergarden before he starts school (Vorschulkind its called here) he is allowed to go in the afternoons too, and whilst the little ones have a nap, the "Vorschulkinder" do things together to prepare them for school. I think he enjoyed himself. Richard not so much, he missed Robert, but I think he was just having a bad day in general, cause he was whiny all day.
Well we picked Robert up at 3pm and walked home, then it was garden time. I mowed the lawn, I wanted to do it before it got out of hand again!
When I got back to the boys, I decided it would be nice to get a shot of them together, didn#t really happen as you can see!

OK, now to get some sleep before my visitor tomorrow, woohoo someone who visits my blog daily is coming here tomorrow, I'm so excited!

Day 237

When I picked the boys up after work today, we joined lots of other Mums and kids at the well in the middle of our village, unfortunately I had actually left the house without my camera, so no pictures from there. And they would have been good, because there we spotted that Richard had his trousers on back to front, so cute!
The kids all had fun splashing one another and running wild, and I caught up on the village gossip. Important news being we still haven't got a new football trainer for the kids yet, fingers xed they will find someone soon for them.

Back home it was time for tea then bed for the kids. I did my workout on the Wii (and yep, Dinphy, Mum is right (see yesterdays comments) I most certainly do need to get rid of the Mummy Tummy (well hidden under the baggy T-shirt!) But the main thing is to get me moving again, and I am actually enjoying it!)

And with all that I forgot to take a picture and now I have been waiting for Sunny to come in and oblige me, but obviously he needs to catch more mice first, so I am going to (for the first time) post a picture I took on Sunday. As on Sunday it was a toss up between this one and the cute one in the bath. Now this cute one gets posted after all!

Day 236

Housework in the morning but a lovely afternoon with friends in the afternoon. We went to see friends that we haven't seen for too long this afternoon. It took the kids about 15 minutes to remember they knew oneanother, but then they all had a great time. Where we were they have their own little swimming pool, the boys loved it. They stayed in it until they were shivering too much to get out! Kids!
I thought I had taken at least 4 pictures, but there was only this one on the camera so this one it is for today and I'll try not to worry, where the other 3 pictures went! This evening I started on my second round of the 30-day challenge (Wii) and Dinphy, I was brave I really did start the intermediate challenge. And yep, definitely more difficult, but maybe it will burn off more kilos too! Here's hoping!

Now off to bed, have to go to work in the morning

Day 235

We had a lovely lazy day today! We spent the morning playing on the Wii, the boys thought Mummy on the Dance mat was hilarious. Funnily enough though they didn't want to try that game, they were quite happy joining in Mario and Sonic at their Olympic Games! That wore them right out!

In the afternoon we were in the garden. I had my laptop out with me and did some scrapping, the boys played on the trampoline. they were on there with balloons making them jump right out of the trampoline, shame they kept bursting and I kept refusing to blow up more! (mean Mummy!)

After tea the boys had a bath, they wouldn't sit together for me to get a good photo, but they did for Daddy, and aren't they cute!Once they were in bed Florian and I put the pizza in the oven, yummy, and as soon as Top Gear has finished we are going to watch a film (The Changeling with Angelina Jolie), so I thought I would post a bit earlier today

Day 234

Where did the sunshine go? Still all cloudy here today, but we didn't let that spoil our fun! We had friends round this afternoon for a barbecue, and although not as warm as it has been, we were still able to sit outside for the barbecue!
Here are the boys tucking into their sausage and "noodle salad" (which I think in the UK is really called pasta salad, but not in this house!)
Our friends have two girls and the four kids got on really well today and played very nicely "most" of the time.

So tonight I finished my first "30 day challenge" on the Wii - EA Sports Active! And I am proud of myself. Tomorrow I will be starting the next 30 days, not sure whether I am moving from "easy" to "intermediate" or doing "easy" again, see how fit I feel tomorrow.

Day 233

Florian took his car in to be serviced bright and early this morning, he was actually back just as we were leaving for Kindergarden, so he came with us. Last night we had another terrific thunderstorm, and Robert in our bed. At 3.45am I had had enough of elbows in my back, so I carried him back to his bed. So not necessarily a good nights sleep there.
The thunderstorms were the start of the weather cooling RIGHT down. Yesterday it was 30°C here and today 17.5°, mmh, not too brilliant, we spent the afternoon on the Wii and then picked Florian's car back up. Whilst out we went to the video rental place and rented some other games for the Wii for us to try out. We got one with a dance mat. I am terrible at it, and to think that I used to dance so much and so well, mmh... I must need to practise again!
Here I am trying my hardest! So and what do you think of my new look?! (I mean my blog, not my not-so-hot workout wear!) My very good online friend, Danyale, gave me a makeover today! Thanks so much Danyale I love it!

Day 232

Wow it was HOT today! So until about 3.30pm we hid from the sun indoors, didn't want to burn up or so. But then it was out into the garden, where the boys played in their paddling pool. you can tell how hot it was, cause today was the first day where they actually SAT in the pool for ages just splashing about. So cute and for us relaxing!
We barbecued after all the pool time fun, yummy! And for once we didn't have to hide indoors from the wasps, not sure where they went but after Robert sitting really still (so brave) when one checked out his eye (shut luckily) it disappeared and didn't come back, phew!

This evening we watched a film that Florian rented for us "Taken" with Liam Neeson, good film not a dull moment. and now it is off to bed.

Day 231

Well, whatever Robert had it was gone this morning, when Florian got him up. So it was back to Kindergarden for him, much to his disgust. I think despite being ill yesterday he enjoyed his day with Daddy!
I was at work in the morning, but in the afternoon we were all together and enjoyed oneanothers company in the garden. The weather was beautiful all day, the boys had the paddling pool out, and Florian and I put our feet up in the shade.

But it was the sunflower again that got my attention there wasn't a moment we were out there (at least not that I saw) where there wasn't a bee on the flower - we are doing our bit for the environment anyways!

Day 230

Well, Robert is still poorly, after blogging last night he spent the night in our bed, as everytime I tried to convince him to lay down in his bed he broke down. But as he really was feeling rotten he got to sleep in the middle...This morning he still had a fever so no Kindergarden for Robert. Luckily as Florian is home I didn't have to take the day off of work, but I did worry about poor Robert. Florian took him to the doctors when his temperature remained really high, she said that everything is clear (ears, throat and lungs) it really seems to be "just" a headache and fever. when we put him to bed this evening his temperature was still really high, poor thing. Hopefully he will get a good night's sleep today. (and me for that matter).

So now I have two poorly fellows at home, I am not going to talk about Richards health I don't want to jinx it again!

Today's picture is a good one of Florian, the boys were not quite so obliging today, Robert didn't feel up to anything and Richard just didn't want his picture taken.

Day 229

A different sort of day today. Unlike a normal (if anything around here can be called that) day Florian was still home this morning, his back has been playing up and he wanted to see the doctor to get a new prescription for the physiotherapist. Well, the doctor didn't like the reactions she was getting from her poking and prodding and has signed him off sick for the week. But a different sort of sick leave, as part of her prescription now is, that he has to do sport (the stuff he is allowed to do) and swim and he has to have physio three times this week. Lets hope this starts his back back on the way to recovery.
For me it means I have an extra kid to look after, cause Florian likes to forget that he shouldn't be lifting heavy things...i.e. KIDS! So I am his conscience. ;o)

this afternoon we went in the garden, not sure what everyone got up to, but I did the lawnmowing, which was hard work today cause I had let it get too long and had to do it all twice!

OK, whilst typing this post.. I have been up to Robert, and talk about "jinxing" things. Today I mentioned that Robert was doing really well, having not been ill for so long. AGH!!!! Can you hear that scream where you are...Robert has a temperature of 39.7°C and a really, really bad headache Mummy.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the really, really bad nose bleed he had this morning, which was that bad, Kindergarden had us come and get him.
OK, better run and comfort the poor thing.

Day 227 and 228

Saturday (Day 227)
We went to Mum and Dad's today for the day. Unfortunately the road through the woods is closed for roadworks and this added 25 minutes on to our journey. Oh well, we got there in the end.
Mum and Dad took us to the local beer garden for lunch. I had a typical German dish of Handkäse mit Musik, which is REALLY smelly cheese in a vinaigrette with onions. Not everyone loves it, but I do. The boys had sausages, although they were a bit bothered by all the wasps. Annoying things they are. The beer garden has an adventure high wire thing next to it, it was fun to watch them all attempt it. Not for me though, I have problems with a normal bridge..
After lunch we went through the park to a great playground for the boys, they were so excited it was a while before they even looked to see where we were sat!
this is on the way to the playground, Robert put his arm around Richard to stop him from getting too close to the stinging nettles at the side of the path... it was soooo cute!It was a busy day really cause from there we went to visit my brother and see how his building work is coming along. (turning the loft into a bed and bathroom). It looks great. The kids played nicely all together, but when they asked to go in the paddling pool, we packed them all up and back to Nannas.
There the kids turned part of the garden into a swamp with LOTS and LOTS of water, whilst we relaxed and chatted on the terrace. Then it was time for a barbecue, yummy!

Sunday (Day 228)
Despite the fact, that we didn't get home til nearly 11pm last night, Robert was up at 7am again, he refused to go back to his bed til 8am, so to avoid Richard being woken up, he was in our bed til 8am. What a fidget! At 8.05am I got up with him, and let him watch TV downstairs, whilst Florian and richard got a bit of lay in. Well, Florian a bit and Richard a lot.
Florian took Robert to meet friends at the bakers when he got up. I stayed home meaning to join them when Richard woke up...he woke up at about 11am! So we didn't go out for breakfast. But I did get all my ironing for the week done!
After lunch, we played on the Wii with the boys. this is them doing swimming on the game my brother lent us. It was so cute, their little bums were swinging whilst they were moving their characters. So cute!

After that we had an ice-cream in the garden and then Florian decided we should take them swimming. I'm not that big a fan of swimming, but the boys were so excited about it, I couldn't say no. Unfortunately not long after getting there, a HUGE black cloud came over, and when it went bang, we all had to get out of the water. It did blow over but by then we were all dressed and it was getting late so we went home again. But the kids did get lots of turns on the slide and at jumping in from the side.
And right now between blogging we are on the Wii again. Just been doing archery and now Florian is playing table tennis!

Day 226

The day got off to a bad start this morning - Robert decided that the night was over at about 6am. And he hovered in our room until I opened my eyes at 6.20am and told him to go back to bed until 7. He refused, even after me asking him many times. So at 7am he stormed up to me and said "turn the tele on now", and when I said no, he put the emphasis on the NOW- we ended up arguing at 7am in the morning, it went on for 20minutes waking Richard up, and resulting in no TV all day! Sometimes I just don't get how stubborn kids can be. At one point he told me he was leaving home...when I told him his friend wasn#t up at this time of the morning he changed his mind...Kids!

Housework once the boys were at Kindergarden, and this afternoon we picked Florian up at the station. From there we had to go shoe shopping. robert's toe was escaping his slippers at Kindergarden, so both boys now have new slippers and Robert has new sandals. Oh and Florian got some new sandals too.
Then the boys must have done something right, cause look, they got an ice-cream!

And for my friend Bentonflocke, here is another picture of the sunflower..

Nothing much to report about today, housework in the morning, and in the garden with the boys in the afternoon. Haven't been out there much this week, the weather hasn't been so nice this week. So when we were out there it was a lovely surprise to see the boys' sunflower actually is going to flower! And it has quite a few buds coming too!

As you can probably tell from the picture it is really tall too! It will be beautiful soon!

This evening it was another workout, and since then I have been fighting the urge to raid the chocolate cupboard, seeing as it is already 11.20pm I think I have succeeded!

Today was a much better day than yesterday. Work this morning was a bit more productive than yesterday, well for me at least. I translated the boy's Spotter's guides, I now know quite a few names of butterflies and bugs in both German and English! And now the boys really will grow up bilingual. I still have 3 more books to do, so I'll be saving them for next Tuesday and Wednesday.

This afternoon the boys had honeymelon for the first time and LOVED it, between the three of us, we ate a whole one. They wanted more, so we went shopping. We went to the shop with the "little trolleys" and they were really good there. So afterwards I took them to a playground near the shop. They had a great time.
Here they are on a different sort of see-sawI remember when I was young there was one of these at our playground, so I know how much fun they were having!

Mmh, about today,... I should probably better not say anything about today, it was not a good day. Not being a big fan of going out to work, it doesn't exactly get any better when my colleague is away on holiday and I spend the day in isolation...that is not the whole story, but you get the gist of it!

Back home my bad mood was either rubbing off on the boys, or they were in a bad mood all of their own. Didn't help much to improve my mood, when one was all whiny and the other sulking, cause I wouldn't turn the tv on!

Oh well, the day is coming to an end and can only get better tomorrow.

This morning felt so good - I love my boys but after 2 weeks of having them home all the time, I needed a break, and this morning they went back to Kindergarden! For the first hour I just sat and enjoyed the silence...!
they were full of stories when I picked them up from Kindergarden at lunchtime, so I think they enjoyed themselves.

This afternoon my friend came around, unfortunately it was very wet today so we had to play indoors (and talk), but the kids were good really. I had tried my hand at making homemade lemonade - imagining drinking it in the garden.. but it tasted just as delicious indoors! I will be making more, have to show Florian how good it is!

The weather did cheer up a bit, so we all went to our village festival for a sausage for tea, yummy!

Day 219 - 221 and an award!

I am a bit behind this weekend, but I'll bring you up-to-date on our lives now!

Day 219 (Friday)
Not a very exciting day today. We picked Florian up a lot earlier than usual, so that was great. The boys as usual were very excited to see him.
I got Florian to take today's picture. For 2 weeks now I have been using the Wii to shape up, and this is me doing my daily workout with the Wii (EA Active). this is me doing "bent over rows with tricep curls" sounds good doesn't it! It is fun and gets me up off of the couch, and I have actually lost a teeny bit of weight (1.8kg) so its helping!

Day 220
Today we finally made it to Augsburg, where Florian works. We drove down in the morning and met Florians land-lady and a friend for a bbq on their roof garden. the boys enjoyed themselves, it was a bit difficult, because it looks out on a courtyard, and their noise echoed around there. And they just didn't understand to keep the noise down. From there it was on to meet Florian's colleagues and their families at the annual garden party. It was great fun. The boys soon lost all shyness and were playing football with some of the dads and there it was no problem for them to run, jump and shout!
Florian has great colleagues and it was lovely to meet them. However the highlight of the day - at least for the boys - was the toilet! It was a pit toilet (Plumpsklo -as they say around here) and the boys had never seen one like this before, they were so funny about it. So Florian even got a pictureRichard might hate me for it one day, but for now he knows nothing about Mummy blogging! ;o)
We drove back the same day and were back just before midnight! the boys slept all the way back!

Day 221
So much for hoping the boys would be tired out this morning and would let us have a lay in...Robert was a bit later up, it was 7.20am. I sent him back to bed, and told him not to come in again until 8am. On the dot he was stood over me telling me what time it was. To keep him from waking Richard I took him downstairs to watch TV. It worked, Richard slept til 10am. So did Florian. Robert watched TV and I read my book (the Host by Stephenie Meyer), I had to hide behind it, as most of the time I seemed to have tears streaming down my face. I think in fact I may have cried too much, cause this evening I have had to put my glasses on and clean my contact lenses in the protein remover - oops! But it was a good read!

This afternoon it was time for the yearly summer procession through the village, accompainied by blueberry anything, we opted for cake.
here are the boys watching one of the floats. After the parade we went back to our garden with one of Robert's friends and family and had blueberry cake there. (well, the others did, I didn't like it much, but then I am not a cake person!)

Tomorrow is an exciting day - the kids are back at Kindergarden!! I think I deserve a medal for the last two weeks, ooh wait, I got an award whilst I was away in the UK - about time I posted it. Thank you Bentonflocke, I have thought of this often in the last two weeks, when the kids were acting up. It helped.I pass it on to all the Mum's who read this! but especially

Day 218

Today the boys were much better, and as today is nearly over I am braving saying it out loud! they still fought at every chance they got, but on the whole my boys are nearly back!
Maybe though it was my approach to the aliens, I got everything I could think of to play with in the garden out, appealing to both of their natures, and hey presto, two happy boys, until their paths crossed.

Richard didn't actually want to go out into the garden, but when I told him that he could paint in the garden, he was happy. Now Robert didn't want to paint, he wanted the paddling pool out. So they both got to do what they wanted. And look Happy Boys!

Notice Robert is filling the pool with the hose, I couldn't get it to fit the duck today, but he thought it was great fun with the hose. I did put my foot down when he wanted to fill the mud up with the hose, as it just splashed mud everywhere!

and whilst they played I enjoyed the sun and a good book ;o)

Guess what, the aliens are back! Full moon tomorrow night, and the boys are certainly letting me know about it. Here is one of the "looks" I have been on the recieving end of all day!He was telling me off for holding him wrong on the climbing frame, but if I didn't hold him it wasn't right either!

The boys have been fighting, arguing, screaming all day long. And it was a LONG day. Started at 6.30am after being up every two hours for one thing or another in the night. Lack of sleep plus aliens is not a good combination.
I suppose I have to see the positive side of things, the sun was shining, so they did there screaming outside (oh, is that really a good thing, all the neighbours heard them too).

Day 215 and 216

Oops I slipped up yesterday I was so busy working hard on a layout for the ScrapStar Contest at Gotta Pixel, that I forgot the time, and by the time I remembered my blog I was already closing the computer down. So here is yesterday's picture a day late.
Can you tell that I also forgot to take a picture. Good job Sunny was obliging!

today was a garden day, we were out in it for most of the day. I decided to be productive and started tackling the weeds that had taken over the boys digging patch, whilst we were on holiday. Its a BIG job and I am probably about 1/3 of the way there, and as Robert so kindly keeps telling me "its a big job Mummy, you still have a lot of work to go!" What a darling!

So today I decided that the weeds wouldn't get to go on the compost heap. I let the chickens have a peck at them. As there was still dirt on the roots, they probably ended up with a worm or two too. So they were very happy!

The weather today had done an about turn it was cold, wet and windy YUCK. so the first part of the afternoon we spent indoors. Then when it stopped raining and brightened up a little bit, Florian took the boys out on their bikes, whilst I stayed in with my scrapping programme and a good book!

Day 213

Lazy day today, well nearly, I did get the weeks shopping done this morning, but I already know that I will have to go again during the week, we are on the last packet of grape juice and somehow i don't think the boys will let me get away with a week without!

We barbecued at lunchtime, which would have been fun if it hadn't been for a very annoying wasp! Richard got a panic attack as soon as it started buzzing around the table and screamed at the top of his lungs like I have never heard him do before. When asked he said he hadn't been hurt, he was just screaming because of the wasp. Mmh, we chased the wasp away but it came back of course and then Richard not only screamed but went running etc. - so no prizes for guessing what happened, yep he got stung! Luckily only on his wrist. I had a gel handy so we put that straight on, and after about half an hour he said it no longer hurt. Phew, Mum is highly allergic to wasp stings, so we had our fingers crossed.
We ate the rest of our lunch indoors although after all that excitement all Richard wanted to eat was apple and Robert informed me he didn't like the sausage, and he couldn't eat the "Grillfackel" meat wrapped around a stick, because the stick was "bobbly", so he only ate the pasta salad....

After lunch we played a bit on the Wii till Richard had calmed down enough, then we braved the garden again. Luckily the wasp wasn't interested in the icecreams we had.

But teatime it was the same story only this time the wasp wouldn't leave Florian alone! Funnily enough, when he and the boys had gone in the wasp was gone, so I finished my tea in peace in the garden!
