Day 281

School for all of us today - yep library again. Still love it! I had a whole big box of books for there, unfortunately there was no time to book them all into the system, but I got the Barbie books that I bought off of my niece in the system, and they never even made it to the bookshelf, but straight into the hands for four very happy young girls!

After library I cooked lunch the kids did their homework, and then off I went to sport. No hanging around there today, but straight after it was home, get the boys to get their shoes on and off to art school. The boys had to be there earlier today as there was a lady there telling them all about Africa. Richard was really interested and told me a lot about it afterwards.

For after I had a surprise for the boys. We went to their cousin's to celebrate her birthday with her. We had tea there. My SIL had made lasagna, very yummy. and Woohoo the boys loved it too, so that is going on my menu in the near future!
We got home at 8.30pm and it was straight to bed for the boys! And I caught up with all those that missed me whilst I was out being busy!

My picture today is of MORE books, this bargain came today. And I still can't believe how lovely the lady was that sent them to us. I got them on Ebay for just 1 Euro plus postage of 6.90. When I wrote and told the lady not to be disappointed the books didn't go for more as the books were going to a great new home in the school library. She wrote back, that in that case she would add two more books for the library. Well when I opened the box. Not only had she done that, but she had also put 2 Euros in the box, as she had managed to post the box for 2 Euros less! Thank you nice lady!

Day 280

English lesson at Kindergarden this morning and I have a new little girl joining us. She enjoyed herself, so I think next week, she'll be back! That means I am back up to seven kids again. We did a lot of singing this morning, as on Friday we will be performing at the annual summer kindergarden party! We will be singing our own version of "The wheels on the bus" and all being well, Robert will be accompanying us!

After Kindergarden I tackled the desk again, getting there, but still seem to be keeping too much! Lunch today was Schnitzel and croquet potatoes and cucumber salad. We all thoroughly enjoyed it! Richard even told me I was the best cook in the whole wide world. I did try to tell him that Gino and Jamie were probably much better, and to that he said "but they don't cook for us"! What do I say to that!

This afternoon Richard went to his friends, but not where they normally are. Today was "Daddy Day" which means they spend their time with their Daddy and today Richard got to go along. I didn't hear that much about it when he got home, but that means it was great, cause I only ever hear if it wasn't!

Robert went to his friend too, I had to follow him there as after he left I had a call that they were running late getting home. So I was there waiting with Robert when they got home and went in and had a good chat and catch up. Not quite what had been planned but very nice.

Today's picture though is the cats. Look how close they are. They even gave one another a kiss before settling down. So cute!

Oops forgot something important. My facebook friend in the States has been collecting Dahlia seeds for me, and today the parcel with them arrived. The boys got some cool football shirts from her too! They will be wearing them for a while as you can see!

Day 279

This morning I started the difficult task of sorting through mine and Richard's craft supplies. I started by clearing out two of the desk drawers. This is going to take a while!
At 10.30am I had to head out to my yearly woman's appointment, which was at 11am. Last time I was in and out within 20 minutes, when I got there this morning there were 4 people already sat in the waiting room.  I saw my plans of being back by 12 when Richard gets home going out of the window. So I put plan B into action, and Heike was going to have him for lunch. BUT the other people in the waiting room must have been there without appointments, cause my turn was before them! And I was home in time for Richard!
As for the appointment all is as it should be and I go back in a year!

After lunch, I took Richard back to his guitar lesson. Whilst they were there I went shopping as always, when I picked them up, Robert got in the car all grumpy. Very strange cause he loves playing guitar, but it seems, that today he didn't listen to his teacher and do as he was told, when he was told. So she shouted at him (rightfully so). I told him that that is what will happen to him throughout his life, if he doesn't learn to do as he is told, when he is told. It probably went in one ear and out of the other, but we'll see. He certainly didn't get any sympathy from me.
Luckily by the time he got home to the spaghetti bolognese I made he was happy again!

The afternoon seemed to be spent doing mostly homework. And Richard was so excited to be sat at the desk in its new home. When he had finished his homework, I suggested he make a new window picture for the kitchen. Here he is gluing it all together. (I did the tracing and he did the rest, the cutting and gluing)

And here the finished product.

Robert had football training in the evening and Richard and I did his reading homework and had tea.

This evening I have been watching Pride and Prejudice -  I think I understand the fuss over Colin Firth now, he is rather "dashing" as they would probably say then!

Day 276, Day 277 and Day 278

Day 276 - Friday
Boys were back at school today, Robert even had to write a German test. Not sure how that went he said it was "easy" that can mean just about anything! We'll see!
Whilst they were at school, I went into town. I took the hats I bought online for them back to the local store, and then just wandered round town. Haven't done that in ages. It was fun.
I got myself a new pair of trousers and top to go with it, at the shop where the hats had to go back too. Then I went to H&M and I am either too old for the shop now, or just not too keen on their fashion sense, but I didn't see anything that I even fancied trying on. Never mind!

Florian got home from work today in time for tea, so that was nice! Even nicer cause I had made fresh bread!

Today's picture was the sunrise, these pictures were taken within one minute of each other, amazing how quickly the colours can change!

Day 277 - Saturday
Florian had a busy morning, first he had to go to the hairdresser, then it was off to sport and after that he went for the treatment on his ankle.
Whilst he was out, I went shopping to Aldi. Not quite that busy for me!

After lunch, Florian went and helped move furniture at a friends, and when he got home, he brought the friends with him and we moved furniture here. We have swapped the desk and the sideboard over. Still got plenty of sorting out to do, but it looks so much better already

In the evening Florian was worn out and fell asleep, so I got to watch Strictly Come Dancing. I was happy. When he woke up we actually watched German TV - Wetten Daß was on.

Day 278 - Sunday
This morning whilst Richard and I were busy trying to sort out all of Richard's crafting supplies (this is going to take a while), the cats were playing. Even lazy Lucky was - I got a cute picture of him in the tunnel.

I took a break from the craft supplies and baked a cake - or started to bake a cake. When I went to get one ingredient out of the fridge, half of it had been eaten! AGH!!! I got straight on the phone to Florian who was out for treatment on his ankle, and a) told him off and b) got him to organise with Heike the missing ingredient. Luckily she had it, cause otherwise I would have to have improvised and who knows how that would have turned out! Here the finished result!

And here some more finished results - the sideboard and Florian working at the new desk (planning next year's holidays!)

Later in the afternoon Florian's sister and family came round for "coffee and cakes" - it was a lovely afternoon.

Day 275

Woke up to beautiful sunshine this morning, perfect for todays Bank Holiday. Mum and Dad came up to enjoy it with us. When they first got here we tidied up the tree that Florian cut for me last week. I am still not 100% convinced it will grow back even better, but I'll be happy if it just grows back!

Mum and Dad took us to the Sieberzmühle for lunch. It was delicious as always, just too bad, I haven't managed to teach my children any table manners. Something I am going to have to work hard on in the future. For some reason neither of them much like to hold a knife let alone use it! Grrrr!

After lunch, the boys went and played on the playground, we joined them outside after a little while, and when we got out their they were about to play chess. Dad helped them and they played a whole game. Too cute!

Heike and family popped in to say hello when we were back home. They brought cookies with them too - yummy!
It was a lovely day, just a shame that Florian couldn't be with us. But I did hear that he made the most of the sunshine too and did a great long walk - 6.76 km in an hour - I'm impressed!

Day 274

After waking in the night with ear ache, I let Robert stay home from school again today. Whilst he was playing upstairs I got on with my ironing. I watched Gino D'Acampo and Jamie Oliver whilst doing it, and tried not to drool on the clean washing.  Some of the food looked delicious and I am looking forward to the post on Friday, when hopefully my new Jamie Oliver cook book will arrive!

We didn't have a Jamie or Gino meal for lunch, but it was delicious what we had. We had a mincemeat stew, with lots of delicious veggies in it. We all enjoyed it! and there is plenty over for tea tomorrow!

Robert tested me to my limits this afternoon, I am not sure, but it may well have something to do with the amount of sugar he has. Today he had extra, as he had two doughnuts (one in the morning and a second in the afternoon, and after the second one, he was soooo obnoxious.
I was actually quite glad that my friend was having him, whilst Richard and I went to art school. And I think she got him back on track too, cause normally after scenes like this afternoon he won't say goodnight, but tonight I even got a goodnight kiss! And that after he told me he hated me! Thank you Heike!

At art school, they had put up the pictures the kids had done of the vehicles. Here is Richard with both of his pictures (he is stood directly under one and the other is the second from the left)

And Robert's had pride of place by where you order your drinks or cakes at the museum.

Well done boys, it's lovely to see your artwork displayed! (Proud Mummy Moment!)

Day 273

Robert still had earache this morning, so it was a trip to the doctors for us this morning. He hasn't got a full blown infection yet, so he doesn't need antibiotics, and hopefully with some noseblowing and nosespray we can keep that at bay. Mum has even offered Robert 10ct for every time he blows his nose. But even with that promise of extra pocket money he still only blew his nose 3 times all day! KIDS!

I left both of them on their own this afternoon and went off to sport. I can't remember if I wrote last week that the price will be going up drastically, well today they found a solution for my friend and I, and we are now VIP customers and have got a great deal, that makes all of us very happy! I am now excited to see the changes they will be making there and not angry about them. Never ever thought I would be this happy about something to do with sport! Must be good for me!
My ankle is feeling much better too, I told it yesterday that we were no longer going to be limping about, and who knows maybe being bossy with it, helps! I still can't crouch, but I can get the boys to do that for me! hihi!

Richard had a football game this afternoon, it was so cold up there, and Robert and I only went up for the second half. I was actually only interested in the sausage that we were going to be having for our tea! Robert was well wrapped up and hopefully the 45minutes we were out, won't stop his getting better!
